I've started to study musical theory via a Ukulele and have been struggling with time signatures. Watching these videos has been like a light bulb going off in my head as all those words, stems, semibreve, crotchets 44, quickstep, waltz immediately made perfect sense, so simple. a wonderful resource, instantly improved my playing, understanding and enjoyment. Many thanks
I was good up until 7, save for a small stumble in level…. 4, I think. But this channel is single-handedly improving every single aspect of my drumming faster than anything I’ve ever tried. Thank you sooooo much!!!
Being able to see each beat in a measure can be helpful, but when you’re actually sight reading on paper - it’s a luxury you won’t have. It would be nice to have one where you have to use your internal metronome, it’s a great exercise.
I agree, and when I started this channel I never used to include the highlighter in my videos for this reason. Most people seem to prefer it with the highlighter though. Maybe I'll do some without it again!
0:07 LEVEL 1 - quarter notes, half notes, whole notes
0:45 LEVEL 2 - quarter notes, 8th notes
1:27 LEVEL 3 - quarter notes, half notes, 8th notes
2:09 LEVEL 4 - 8th rests
2:58 LEVEL 5 - 16th notes
3:54 LEVEL 6 - 8th+16th rhythms
4:50 LEVEL 7 - 16th+8th-rest rhythms
5:46 LEVEL 8 - syncopated 8th-notes
6:42 LEVEL 9 - dotted 8th-notes
7:38 LEVEL 10 - 16th rests
8:34 LEVEL 11 - more 16th rest rhythms
9:30 LEVEL 12 - dotted 8th rests
By FAR THE BEST rhythm reading exercises I've found in a few years of searching! Notation+ the counting is so helpful! THANK YOU!!
This is bringing back my ptsd from high school band. I wish I had this back then. Maybe I would have learned to sight read.

Should i say an even if there is no note? Im a drummer and struggling on how to to count
Could you vary the sounds of the drums? It sounds harsh
sound is normal💀
@@hyusisns no, it sounds yarsh. And varying the drum sounds would also be more realistic and less monotonous
@@DavidM-k8z I completely disagree, use your imagination to fill in the notes
Nice😂
I can’t do level 3
