So far, this is a change from the Saban era I do love...hearing from coordinators often. He feels like Golding to me but so far so ok. Hope we tighten up against the run
When you compare how DeBoer answered the bye week question to this you can sort of understand why Saban didn’t let coordinators talk to the press. DeBoer obviously likes to keep things close so you’d think he’d get the coordinators to stay as vague as he is
No questions about blown coverage in the secondary for the second week in a row? Coach W says up front that Bama didn’t play as well as the stat sheet suggests, and nobody digs in on that. Terrible reporters.
@@user-tl5bk9uv8x I'm a Bama fan y'all keep focusing on uga im thinking bigger picture uga is not our national championship we trying to get back on top of cfb.
I am an X and O fan. It appears the DC is more concerned with takeaways rather than stopping the run and putting pressure on the QB. Here are a few things I have noted about the Bama defense: (1) DBs are playing 10-15 yards off the line of scrimmage allowing 5-10 yards per play, (2) Defense is allowing the boundaries and the middle of the field to remain wide open without LB coverage. A good accurate QB is going to march down the field utilizing short throws eventually wearing the Bama defense down, (3) The Bama defense pass rushers are not putting pressure on the QB or stopping the run, (4) The Bama secondary in cover 2 both the CBs and Safeties are allowing WRs to get behind them therefore setting up a easy TD with an accurate QB. If the Bama defense use these same play schemes they used in the previous games, Georgia is going to win the game easily. The Bama defense needs to put constant pressure on QB Beck because he gets rattled and knocks his rhtym off. Georgia loves to control the line of scrimmage and run the ball. If Bama shuts down the runs and puts constant pressure on the QB, Bama will win the game. But if Bama continues to use the same defensive plans, Bama will lose. I hope the DC talks to Coach Saban before he puts together an effective game plan because he taught Kirby Smart how to run a defense.
Damn, almost described the 2023 SEC Championship to a T haha, as a bama fan, you couldn't have said it better. While I do like takeaways, consistent tackling and correct coverage is better than luck. Hopefully LT Overton can take leadership of that D-line and we won't need to constantly blitz and play better coverage.
Thanks armchair coach! Why would they show defensive schematics to Georgia a couple weeks before the game? Or any of the other top opponents they face later in the season.
@@user-tl5bk9uv8x Womack is playing rope-a-dope with the run defense, like the emperor waiting to unleash the true power of the Death Star when everyone believes it’s still under construction. That’s one theory. Or maybe the 335 scheme and emphasis on dislodging the ball isn’t translating to solid tackling or a physical run D. Either way, I hope you’re right.
He'll get it together..in 2022 his defense at south alabama was ranked #5 in run defense and last year they were ranked like #21.. both years had a better run defense than alabama
I really hope we keep this guy for a while.
I really like both Coordinators and love hearing from them every week! It’s also awesome that his Dad was a coach!
I love this dude. I haven’t been as impressed with the team as I hoped to be but every time I listen to these guys talk I feel reassured
what were you hoping for? lol
I’m impressed with this Coach and his staff!
Womack not just a coach he is a tactical coach

Hey, I have an idea, let's shut down the run, that would be good and more like Alabama Football!!
Shut up nicca.
Roll Tide!
He focused more on takeways than the run
When they shut down Georgias run game I don’t wanna see you jumping on the bandwagon.

I really don't not like the defensive scheme 1 high looks and i believe use 2 high ss looks just like nick saban do
Pete Golding all over
schematically, schematics and the schematics for the schematics, schematically, the I mention the schematics?
Stay hating chris😂
the run defense is giving up 178 ypg and 4.5 ypc in the last 2 games. I’d say “we’re not yet a dominant rush defense” is quite the understatement.
