Im glad you did this, I dont like styling from soaking wet either, it's uncomfortable. I do see a difference in each side...but not drastic, and both look lovely. Though from looking at your results, I think wet styling is better for transitioning, the curl pattern and definition is gonna happen quicker I think than damp styling, they're a bit juicier and glossier than the other side...Thanks, really good video
You have such pretty hair! I think the wet side is a little better and more defined, but there's not THAT much of a difference. I definitely agree that if its quicker and easier to style damp, then there's no reason to do the wet!
I style my hair wet, super wet it’s an icky feeling for me to but I still do it because I like definition...my mom styles her hair damp and she always tells me “porque a mi no me queda como a ti?!” And I always tell her it’s because of the amount of water...thank you for this video...I’m going to send it to her. Your hair looks beautiful either way by the way!
Omg HahHa i can totally see you ladies having that conversation 😂😂 yesss show her the video! Do you wet your hair or do you style it while you’re in the shower??? I hate the feeling so much lol
Jenny Borrego I mostly do it in the shower because it’s faster that way, but I’ve also done it outside of the shower. I put a big t shirt on my back so I don’t get too wet and I diffuse immediately after.
I have coarse , heavy , thick 3C/4A curls and while styling my hair wet gives me more moisture, the combination of water weight and gravity pulls on the curls which makes the curls turn out looser once it's dried, which I don't like. I like my curls to be tight as possible, so I have been styling my hair damp since doing this seperates my curls more & make them into smaller, tighter curls (especially after plopping)😌
My hair is 3a 3b and no wjere near as healthy looking as the girls in the video but i alo tried styling soaking wet to see if it would help with frizz and it did but the weight of my wet hair didnt allow my hair to curl like i wanted so i completely understand your comment.
Applying damp, drenched, or dry definitely has a different effect for different products. The bottle can’t really guess right. You have to give products 3 chances.
Great video! I had such a cr*p wash day this week, and I'm sure its because I left it plopped for longer coz I did my makeup first. I'd sprayed with a bit to dampen afterwards, but I think my hair just responds to products way better when its soaking. Thanks for sharing!
I like doing my hair on soaking wet hair, I realized damp hair is beneficial for time, but it doesn't make my hair spring up with definition and its my hair would be elongated because my hair goes down to my butt.
I always style my hair soaked which means I put myself through a voluntary torture session because I ALSO hate the feeling of soaked hair on my back. 🤣🤣🤣 but it’s the ONLY way I feel like I can get defined curls and also get even product distribution. My curls aren’t naturally super tight though so it’s a sacrifice I’m happy to make to get bouncier curls. Your hair looked amazing BOTH ways so I agree with your pick because of convenience .
Ultimately it’s a win win regardless of side. However, the wet side the curls were tighter and more defined from root to end. The damp side, while it appeared fuller, the ends were less defined, and had the appearance of being frizzy, not because it was actually frizzy, but because they weren’t as tight and defined. If that makes sense.
Jenny Borrego While Im in the shower or the bathroom has water and product every where. LOL! I also style with my hair upside down. I need to try styling more like you and see what happens. I've always have terrible luck with volume and the definition with styling right side up. But I'm willing to try again.
Honestly, I prefer the damp styling side. I'm going to try this on my curls to see what difference it makes on my curl pattern results. Great video!
Mandi Wolfe yess me too!!! I like the damp side better!!! Let me know how it goes!! Are you doing super wet right now??

You make a really good point!! Someone who is transitioning would totally favor from doing the Wet method!!!!

Wow!! Sooo cool that you did this comparison! Love the results, the damp side is my fave, but the right is amazing as well 😍😍
Mine too!!!! I like the damp sides better!!! Thank you my beautiful friend!!!

A.C yesss! So so true!!! I always give products more than one try!!!
I LOVE the right side! It's all about the volume for me. Your hair is beautiful regardless!
ivy sizemore yessss I agree! Volume always wins haha
Oh wow! I can’t believe the amount of water makes such a difference!! I love both sides but the damp side is my fav!!!
I style damp. It’s so much more convenient than what I used to do of styling in the shower with my hair soaking wet.
Omg yes!! Amen! The process of styling my hair super wet is such a pain in the butt and so gross lol 😂

Oh nooo I’m sorry about your cra**py wash day. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Ok but why are you so gosh darn beautiful? And your hair so beautiful as well!
Thanks you so so much 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Paola Acevedo you are a brave grasshopper 😂😂 styling it so wet was soooooo 😫😖😣 lol but, I get it. Any sacrifice for the curls haha
I love the right side... soaking wet... my curls come out curlier and bouncier when soaking wet... your curls are beautiful
Thank you so much!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Jenny Borrego your very welcome mama 🤗
I have low porosity so I get better results with wet styling but I also plop for 15 min to help reduce the diffusing time.
Aglover90 genius!!!!! That way it doesn’t take what feels like 12 hours to diffuse 😂😂

I love that! It’s a win win haha!!! And it makes perfect sense!! 🥰🥰🥰
Damp styling makes me have a bad hair day! LOL! Styling soaking wet creates better clumps and less frizz for me. I prefer tighter curls.
I just wish I didn’t hate the feeling of wet hair so much lol do you still while in the shower or you do wet it after?
Jenny Borrego While Im in the shower or the bathroom has water and product every where. LOL! I also style with my hair upside down. I need to try styling more like you and see what happens. Wet side 100%!! It's a lot smoother and shinier.
It's the left side for me no competition 🖤🖤
Right!!! I think I like the left side better too!!!!!
@@jennyborrego6841 You can never have too much volume 🖤
Adero M amén haha 😂😂❤️❤️
"Team damp" for sure if volume is the goal!
What color did you dye your hair?
I actually prefer the damp side 😍
Me too!!!!!
Jenny Borrego 😍😍😘
The damp side looks better and more volumous other side is too clumpy but defined better
I like the damp side on me better too!! Volume over anything else 😂😂
My hair apparently loves soaking wet styling but I too hattteeee dripping hair lol. And it gets water everywhere. Just ughhh lol
First hun 🖤
Adero M alwaysss haha you’re the very best!!! Happy Wednesday my love 😘😘😘
@@jennyborrego6841 I try to be and happy Wednesday to you too hun 🖤
You are gorgeous
You may have a mild case of aquaphobia, that may be why it grosses you out or makes your skin crawl when you have excess water on you.
