This is my cat Morris who loves to sit on my horse Champy, here Ruby and Champy are having a grooming session while Morris sits on one of his favourite places - Champy's rump! Morris also loves to get in on the grooming which I have other videos of. He also jumps up by himself.

Is it just me or do horses and cats get along really well together?

we had a cat that would jump from the rafters in the barn onto horses to sleep during the winter. the first time he would jump on a new horse, of course the horse would freak. he would keep trying and they would get used to it.

Never! I think Champy is really conscious of him being there, plus my horse doesn't spook at stuff anyway. Ive seen Champy move at a really good walking pace and Morris enjoying the ride, but I doubt he would stay on for a trot :)
I've seen Morris get bucked off other horses when he's tried them out and chased by another. But him and Champy have a special friendship.

i'm no specific animal lover, but i love sweet moments among animals like this...and as i view this one, curved my lips to a smile coz as if the one horse wants to have a private sweet moment with his special friend yet it annoys him to see the cat is on his friend's, which his friend doesn't really care bec she equally like the friendship she and the cat shares - rudeness to shoo him away... hehehe, so awkwardly cute!
Who wouldn't want a cat sitting on them? Looks like a general love-in.

Very cute. I have a silly black and white cat named Moose who will sit on my like that if given half the chance. When I go in to their room to clean up (yes, my cats have their own room!) he likes to jump on me and just hang out and purr. Cats are funny like that.

Not sure about this being normal but there seems to be plenty of videos on RUclips of similar cats with horses. Morris my cat doesnt fall off, but he does prefer to jump on Champy when he's got his rug on, gives him better grip. Im going to see soon if he'll sit in my saddle.

I guess the horses learned mutual grooming from the cat.
Horses actually learn mutual grooming from their mother. They bay can't actual mutually groom the chestnut due to the cat being there. He really wants to groom his friend but with the cat there its a bit hard lol

Histories best racehorse ever, Kincsem from Hungary had a cat as friend, and she could not been convinced to start a race without seeing and playing with the cat first.

If you know anything about horses, you would know that they get on well with cats.
Sam not all cats and horses get on just like humans, I have two other horses & one other cat and it's only Champy & Morris who are friendly with each other. I know plenty of horses get on with cats but plenty don't.
