  • BANGALORE: Much awaited ballot for Bangalore Central happened according to the stipulated countdown that began yesterday morning at 7:00 AM and culminated tentatively in the evening around 6:00 P M. The dance of democracy in India is a herculean task as it is world’s largest ballot exercise that passed the test of time without trouble of any kind.
There were some incidents of mismatch, deletions, additions, sorrow and cheerfulness which is part of the game each time that the country goes for the ballot. Officers, ground staff and volunteers has a touch time to handle the situation as they were trained to handle the situations that may arrive during the exercise.
Limited police deployment across polling booths was worrisome, there were situations in Varthur which was designated as sensitive was handled very well by the returning officer with additional deployment of security personnel to counter any situation incident that could create any unrest.
Random access at Maratahalli, Vartur, Jeevan Bheemanagar, C V Raman Nagar, Indiranagar, Rajajinagar, Gandhinagar, Chamrajpet Shivajinagar and Shantinagar were completely incident free across the city. There was a festive mood among the voters, individuals, families and friends visited in groups to exercise the constitutional right as a fruit of world’s largest democracy.
We have to wait till June 4 for collective voting results, until such time the votes casted will remain in tightly casted strong rooms according to office of Returning Officers. However until then there is a time for speculations and media trail. However there could be new faces from Congress gaining entry into the BJP’s domain which cannot be ruled out.
