Here’s my take on why Mephiles utilized the specific methods he did in 06: Mephiles is a completely evil being who as Shadow puts it, “craves destruction.” Mephiles doesn’t just want to fuse with Iblis and become Solaris, but he wants to do it in the cruelest way possible due to his desire for destruction. His actions with Shadow were due to Mephiles wanting to break Shadow as revenge for sealing him 10 years prior. His actions with Silver were due to him wanting Silver to practically destroy his own future by manipulating him into killing Sonic, who was the only person who could’ve saved Elise from the Eggman’s crashed ship and if he had killed him in front of Elise, she would’ve broken the seal and it would’ve been Silver’s fault. As for Elise, he knew about how close she had gotten to Sonic and that she began to care about him, so killing him in front of her and seeing her drown in her own sorrow, releasing Iblis in the process, was more satisfying for him than simply just killing her. To put it simply: Mephiles is a sadistic manipulative sociopath who’s desire to become whole is equal to his desire to make everyone around him suffer, regardless of whether they are in the way of his goals, crossed him, or if they did nothing to him.
Glad someone actually understand this. Mephile's actions put him within the category of chaotic evil, the "intelligent monster" variety, according to tv tropes. "The Intelligent Monster - This type doesn't care who they destroy or how they destroy them; the fact that they can be destroyed is enough. They create plans deliberately structured to spread chaos and misery, and are generally batshit insane with a complete Lack of Empathy." It's funny when people try to criticize Mephile's action through rational thought when the reasons why characters like him do the things they do it quite simple. They are not rational.
Mephiles wanted revenge against Shadow, and Silver aswell. But why Silver? Cuz he helped Shadow to seal Iblis, Mephiles other half, while they traveled in the past. That's why Mephiles was so focused on Shadow and Silver, but Sonic. He wanted to break Shadow's and Silver's spirits. The reason why Mephiles didn't interact with Sonic more than Shadow and Silver was, at least in my opinion, cuz he didn't seek revenge on him. He wasn't the main focus at least not that much. Cuz Mephiles wanted revenge on Shadow and Silver first. Then AFTER, he would get rid of Sonic to fuse with Iblis. He's not in a hurry, he has all the time of the world to fuse with Iblis. My guy literally able to time travel, so what's he gonna first is to get revenge on Shadow and Silver.
Great video! Yeah, it’s very weird that Mephiles never shows up in any Sonic games or comics. He’s one of the few new Sonic villains fans actually want to see again, whether in the games or in comics. If they’re worried about adapting his origin, they can make a few changes. Just say he’s a living anomaly of spacetime or something and keep everything else about him. I feel there’s either a weird corporate reason behind it, or they’re just that incompetent.
I think the reason they won't bring him back is due to him and iblis merging to create Solaris. Since the split of Solaris is what caused Mephiles to be its own being. So for Mephiles to be back in the games Solaris would have to be split back into two.
@@wisccheese9257 Well he is some what overpowered but he fused with Iblis to create Solaris. So technically speak, Mephiles isn't a being anymore. And with Solaris being defeated, we may not see him for the foreseeable future.
I think what’s significant in Mephiles killing Sonic so fast is the fact that he COULD do it so EASILY. Mephiles did this entire story to manipulate and torture everyone just because he could. He understood that he was basically an unbeatable god and craved destruction (quote from Shadow). This actually adds to him being so sinister, because he would have no point in which he is satisfied with destruction.
Mephiles is the only Sonic antagonist that has a real reason to be evil (not counting Shadow or Eggman since their both kind of anti-heroes, not villians). Although the most recent villian that annoys me the most is Infinite...he only has one reason to be evil is because, Shadow called him weak so he decides to prove his not weak by causing 'destruction'🙄 it's incredibly childish. Zavok is a character that I don't care too much about but I do love his character design, I just hate that he constantly comes back in every Sonic game and barely does anything controversial. I really hope that Mephiles makes a return in the new Sonic 2022 game, by the trailer it looks like we'll be going through temples and possibly ancient ruins which will be the perfect game to reintroduce Mephiles and give us serious Sonic fans a more serious story.
I always thought that Mephiles had the body language of a corpse but spoke with authority. Really makes him creepy, especially when he starts talking about events from the future.
For instance, how am I gonna stop some big mean furry from tearin' me a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer? Use a gun. And if that don't work, use more gun.-Omega
6:04 I also thought about it and Shadow759 made an animation depicting a potential scenario of what happended between Eggman's ship crash and the distorted future which, in my opinion, is pretty good. You can see it here ruclips.net/video/fxUXitHYVN4/видео.html
4:04 from my understanding, Shadow and Silver's trip to the past, unlike the other time travels in the game, was a fated time loop. Mephiles and Iblis' destined seals could only happen if Shadow and Silver did time travel. That's why Mephiles recognizes Shadow before the time travel and why Elise had the chaos emerald years back despite it appearing along the other 6 in previous games.
I don't think Mephiles on his own could handle Enerjak. That guy can crush multiverses seeing how his power is similar to Master Mogul. Though I can't confirm if Solaris can. I imagine it wouldn't be a one sided fight either way. Mammoth Mogul would also be a good contender for Sonic Villains.
@Pointless I would still not call it a one-sided battle either way. Mephiles would more than likely try to find a method to get rid of Enerjak before reuniting with Iblis. Master Mogul apparently took on three Super Forms at once as well.

Why don’t they just bring him back? He’s more scarier than Eggman😂
Literally the only villain from sonic I take seriously

Seriously Mephiles is my favorite Sonic villain.
Same here mephiles is also my favorite character in sonic villain
My Theory: They Won't bring back Mephiles simply because he's from a game SEGA doesn't like to mention or really acknowledge
Facts
But they are though in plushies

Merlina and Mephiles need more love
To be fair to Biolizard, the boss was more of a manifestation of Gerald Robink’s Anger and Grief of his revenge
Hey they are bringing him back as plushie, sega waited all till now to bring him back. 15 years smh

mephiles tennessee = memphis tennessee LOL

Maybe Mephiles can only fuse with iblis when he is freed from his imprisonment as he hadn’t taken a proper form and is just a flame
his theme is so creepy
Elise dad and Shadow are the ones that caused him harm so he wants to make them suffer as much as possible, thats his real goal
he basically azael from marvel
and darkai

Mephiles is the most sadistic villan in the entire Sonic universe
