    6:55 this is actually incorrect. The different color pallets are only filters added onto the raw image. The camera is not a BW camera. The information it collects is in color independent of what setting you have it on, so putting it on grayscale will not give you any more information. Its just that grayscale noise is less distracting than color noise.

      Immediately, yes. However just like everything new to someone its not going to feel 100% right so it takes training and time behind the camera to get it dialed in. After a collective of maybe 10 hours of the short times I used it for messing around it felt really natural. I am hoping that there will be opportunity for me to use it in-game

      I have a Syonix Sport, Pro, PVS-14 and some ANVIS-9s and can say that for practical purposes the Syonix is useless for navigation. Not only is the screen and FOV too small, and the sensitivity too low, the lag makes it impossible to run effectively. I guess with IR light maybe you could navigate in near darkness, but then you might ad well use your natural vision or white light.
      The syonix gives you no advantage over just using white light in an airsoft setting. If you're in the US just buy a used PVS14. If not, you're still better off saving up

      The person who has the most experience with seeing analog would be James. I (Talon) have only peeked through one for a couple of seconds, not nearly long enough to have been substantial experience. I see other youtubers blatantly use and operate the sionyx in the worst settings possible and negatively review it due to user error. I would love an opportunity to do a collaboration with analong users, I am waiting for the nights to warm up a little more.

      @@TheAirsoftArena I've watched a lot of footage from both types of night vision. Having served in the military I was issued a gen2 pvs14 which was a phenomenal piece of gear even at Gen 2. A refurbished pvs 7 out performs these syonix devices by powers of 10. To advertise these as being anything other than a gimmick is disingenuous. Everyone here should just save their money for a real analog unit. The poor person cope in this video is pretty funny.

    If you want to see in the dark for cheap fun, why not get an even cheaper real first gen NV monocular? It’ll be more sensitive and have no image lag, and cheaper lol

    • @DaveSmith-cp5kj
      @DaveSmith-cp5kj 3 года назад

      First gen monoculars are way heavier than this, a lot more fragile (more so than even gen 2 and gen 3), prone to IIT damage from light exposure, and doesn't have recording capabilities. The Aurora does fill a niche of its own. I have gen 3 dual PVS14, and two sets of quad tubes (one chinese, the other homemade), and I still bought two auoras to mount on a bridge because they do things my other sets don't do.
      Back when the Russian Lomo was still around, yes that was the way to go for intro night vision. Only $90, and could mount directly to a j-arm. However they were also extremely fragile. Bump it once and it is toast.

    • @revvyishonisd5027
      @revvyishonisd5027 3 года назад

      @@DaveSmith-cp5kj nah with offerings like the Bering optics polaris, gen 1 is still a much better option for seeing in the dark than an aurora. $400 or less and it comes with everything to go hands free right out of the box. An actual night cap with pivoting mount & J arm rather than a shity skull crusher. Same weight as a pvs14, high light shut off to help protect it, 1x26 with a 1.2f objective, even comes in green or white phosphor.
      A unit like that would totally smoke an aurora in performance and do it for less money. The aurora isn’t a night vision device, it’s a low-ish light action camera, being a camera is the only thing it does better than actual night vision. It’s frame rate restraints alone make it near impossible to head mount and navigate or shoot at night with. Gen 1 just needs a little bit of external IR light to help it out and you’re rockin and rollin, seeing things in the dark in real time.

      @@TheAirsoftArena not really gating, it's inherent to the sensor design. The aurora just adjusts exposure in real time. Gating on a tube is due to oversaturation of the MCP which causes a voltage spike and the tube intermittently cuts power to prevent damage. Not the same mechanism at all
