FYI: the dc rounds are actually front post dc; the last round is reverse sc (crab stitch). For the person looking for a written pattern, look at the captions on screen, at the upper left, get a pencil and piece of paper and write them down. Et voila! 😊

I find it hard, even though I follow the instructions to the letter. 🤷♀️ I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I think this is a lovely little bag, I would love to be able to do one. Last row looks very unusual to crochet backwards ,but looking very cute .beautiful idea of a purse.double colour yarn is the high light .handle is also done very differently ,looks unique.👌👌

I agree with Kim, looks like ice cream yarn. It is a lighter weight than a lot of people work with. If you or your wife will look up lions brand ice cream yarn, it’ll come up with all the sizing info she will need. 🙃
Just made this. Very time consuming. Specifically the round part. Did not use CDs. Used thick cardboard. Made the handle different. 5hrs later it was done.

Beautiful, but I'm concerned about bending and/or breakage, so I would use 2 or 3 CDs together maybe.
You can trace the CD shape onto something else (like stiff plastic) and use that as a base. It'll probably last longer that way.

With a starchy yarn and leaving off the handles this would make a great pencil etc holder for sitting on a desk. Very cool😍
If you want to make narrower pencil cups, there used to be mini CDs. Not sure if they are readily available anymore

That stitch is a reverse single crochet. It is a sturdy and stiff crochet stitch.

This looks like the ice cream yarn I believe it’s a size 4 weight yarn
I would say it's a 4ply, but I could imagine a dk weight working well too if you sized your hook up slightly
