What kind of wire or stick u use for making the body of the doll pls tell

It looks like she is using craft pipe cleaner and then cut down to expose some of the wire. I have used pipe cleaner for mine as well but this is the first time I cut them to the wire and inserted into the body,,,it seems to work very well
