This week's theme is songs that have made a Triple-J annual Hottest 100 list (Australian radio). This Tame Impala song was the #5 song on the 2015 countdown.
I knew I could count on you for some Tame Impala. Really good job! That must have been incredibly hard to sing and play. I love the soloing you did. By the way, have I mentioned how much I like that uke of yours? It's awesome! I was about to mention the positions in the countdown of the 2 songs I did last week, but then I realised that neither of them made it, which is an absolute travesty! The best I can come up with was my entry in season 256 was #9 in 1998.
This one was mostly hard to sing. Kevin Parker's voice has a range where I keep having to go back and forth between real voice and falsetto. I should have lowered the key, but I'd already realized I could play it in this key, and I didn't want to mess with that. The uke is a Kawika tenor.
I've been there. I've definitely had songs where I didn't want to change the key for that reason. Plus Kevin Parker has such an incredible range, that I wonder how much changing the key would help anyway.
I forgot to put in my other comment: Parker produced a really great album by French singer Melody Prochet, called Melody's Echo Chamber, that came out around the same time as Lonerism. He added a lot of Tame Impala-ish flourishes to the album. It was my favorite album of 2012. If you're a TI fan, I recommend it.
Most of it was A F#m G#sus4 (1344). For the "All this running around" parts, D#m B C# F# On the "I hear an alarm, it must be morning" line, play a C#sus4 instead of F#.

Hi! What chords did you use in 4:53 till the end?
A F#m G#sus4 (1344). Using whatever spare fingers were left to play the melody over those chords.
