Great job on the trailer and thank you for the ideas! I am about to convert a 40ft 5th wheel into a smoker trailer by turning the back into a deck keeping 16ft up front enclosed and placing a 500 gallon smoker on the back. Fabricating an extended roof from the front with collapsible side and rear walls. Found the trailer for under $800 already turned into a crawler toy hauler by a hunter.
This is exactly the kind of trailer I’m wanting to remodel for my mobile tee shirt business! Thanks for the inspiration! I will have to hire out for the work however! Don’t really have the tools needed or welding skills etc,
Thanks for the video it has some realistic numbers !! Love the colour you choose and horse trailer, let us know how is it going with the catering jobs . Cheers !!!
Thank you! Well, it started off a bit slow, but after winter ended, I made all of my money back and then some. I serve a very niche product so I dont get to many gigs too often, but it does pay very well!
I recently bought a horse trailer that exacts size .. stumbled across your video while trying to figure out the remodel.. do you by chance work on others or do online training? I don’t know where to start
Wait what? Did you say 500 dollar trailer? Where do you get that kind of bargains? Sheez! Here that original runs at 4.5k. As a last note. Thank you for this because I am considering the same thing. Whish you only the best and lots of green backs in your future Sir. You're a go getter.
I really like the video, thank you for sharing and inspiring others like me. How much is your total cost & how long it took for you to finish this project?
I want to say right around 10k. To do all the metal and work work was like 6k. Then new tires, 2 freezers, an inverter system, a food warmer, electrical. Id say right at 10-12k and it took 6 months to finish
I guess I may have missed something but are you going to do a video of the inside of the trailer once it's up and running as an ice cream truck? I didn't see anything about how you have freezers set up, or ice cream making machines and/or how they're powered, etc. Do you have anything on video about that? Thanks!
You're so right, I did leave out a lot of details and I'm sorry about that. I finished that 2 years ago and all of 2019 I was putting it to work. Our family owns a small icecream shop in southern california and I purchase my product from them and resell at farmers markets, parties, sports events, school functions etc. I have 2 4x2 display freezers for icecream bars and softserve. On the half moon, i keep a food warmer for nacho cheese and all my cups and spoons. I also have a 3x2 chest freezer that I fill with ice and use to sell drinks! I hope that helps!
Thank you! Since the plate is aluminum, the only way to secure it to the steel is with rivets. You can get 1/4" rivets in packs of 100 at harbor freight along with the right gun. Maybe $50 for everything
You were saying a lot. I got lost. I think the word is Stop working for corporations and learn how to sell something you believe in. Learn how to talk to others. Don't be scared. Try,try, try. Be a winner!!!
Thanks! Unfortunately my time is very limited right now, but I do plan to build generic conversions sometime soon so if youre in the market for trailer down the road, I might have one for you!
I couldn't see your comment, it was put in spam, sorry about that. I reused the original plastic and just cleaned it up. You can fabricate your own by using plexiglass that you can buy at RC hobby stores. most come clear but you can either tint them or paint them with glass paint to make it work for you. Good luck!
I've been meaning to bit have not had the chance but I'll be uploading one soon. I made all my money back and more within the year. I filed self employed taxes for 2018 and 2019 and I was able to adjust them enough to get qualified to buy a house so in late 2020 I bought my house and am about to sell my trailer.
@@NightWrencher that's awesome! I'm thinking about starting up a trailer/truck here in my small hometown and do specialized items like milkshakes and cookies since there's like nothing around here. Got any tips you wish you could go back and tell yourself before opening up for the first time?
I’ve looked into starting an ice cream business before and would like to when the time is right. I’m still building my tree service I started 3 years ago. But my question is... did you run into any legal issues with selling ice cream out of your trailer? Did you have to get it inspected? I heard that could be a big issue. Any help would be appreciated because I’d like to start it soon
I planned my build out by going to the county office first and picking up a list of requirements listed to apply for a Mobile Food Facility permit. That will tell you how what you need to build, and how. Youll probably need to visit the housing department too to pull out a permit for the electrical installed as well. The rest is just played by ear
This is amazing! I want one for my portable soap and skin care business....I do vendor events.

Thank you! I really appreciate it! Thats a huge trailer! Your idea sounds awesome, I hope it works out for you!
How's the build going? How does the trailer handle with all that weight on the back?
Excellent job
Thank you!

You’re lucky if you bought the trailer for only $500 before renovation. Good job!

How did you put on the diamond plate? I am just starting my build... nice 👌 upgrades

I am better at talking now, so Im sure you chose the right words lol.
Would you customize a horse trailer for me? Looking for a espresso horse trailer. Nice job!
Thanks! Unfortunately my time is very limited right now, but I do plan to build generic conversions sometime soon so if youre in the market for trailer down the road, I might have one for you!
What dis you use for the windows? I have the same trailer im trying to restore

It looks just like mine too!!!
Do you have a finished video on the trailer?
I have only posted several pictures and a video where I'm towing it, but no actual update video as of yet
did you get a permit for this? how does it work. ? i would love to get one im a treat maker
Yes, I aquired all my permits through my local health department. The classification was an "MFF" or mobile food facility permit.
I’m curious on how much that size trailer weighs! I’m trying to see what I can tow
This one is all steel, no fiberglass unlike the newer trailers. It weighs around 3000 empty
you never posted another video about this. how did everything end up working out?

I don't build trailers as a business, but if I do, I'll let you know 👍
I have a trailer and I am a very good cook I am excited to convert it into a food trailer. Where's your first video?

Yes it was!
Are you selling that fridge?
You mean that black stainless one?
