It's a nice touch that in 2000, when Macy had decided to _accept_ losing Thorne to Brooke, she quoted the serenity prayer, saying how she had "accepted what she could not change".
Now, when Deacon is about to accept losing his children to Brooke and her family, he also quotes the serenity prayer in exactly the same context, telling himself the same thing Macy told herself then - to accept what he can't change.
But then Macy _changes the narrative_ and encourages Deacon _not to accept_ losing his children to Brooke and her family, by quoting another part of the prayer, giving Deacon "the courage to change the things he can".
It is, in essence, Macy using Deacon as a metaphor for rewriting the final chapter of her own history with Brooke, so that it will end less tragically. And in this retelling of that story, Macy casts _herself_ as the guardian angel, with the agency and power to change the course of the narrative that she _didn't_ have three years ago.
It's not about _revenge_ but about _vindication._

Ridge's speech at the end of this episode proves beyond a doubt that the narrative is changing. In just a few words, Ridge dismisses Caroline and Taylor as "perfect ideal women" whom Ridge has put on pedestaIs and found "easy to love", while his love for Brooke is the real thing.
This is not what was shown during the Bill Bell years, but it will be the story from now on under Brad Bell. It is now a different show where Brooke is the main romantic lead, as opposed to the "fauxmantic heroine" (@Nick) that she was originally written to be.

“We will see Taylor is a human being who makes mistakes” there is a HUGE difference between a woman sleeping with a man once and a woman having an affair with her daughters husband and having his baby, or a woman sleeping her way through her kids family members jumping from brother to their father (who’s also her mothers ex love), back to the brother and then to the other brother. All of them her going after while they were married. It’s definitely different than cheating on her husband with his son and not knowing who got her pregnant, or even sleeping with your brother in law and once again not knowing which brother knocked you up. I would take the woman who cheated once over the forrester t r a m p any day.

I don't mind Ridge ending up with Brooke. But the writers aren't just doing that. They are doing it by elevating Brooke to the role of romantic heroine _at the expense of other previous romantic heroines_ who are now being described in a simplified and beIittling way. Brooke is being lifted up by the writers consistently bringing down _all_ of her rivals, and this has been going on throughout S16. If you root for _any femaIe character other than Brooke,_ this becomes really frustrating after several months.

How is it revenge if it isn't hurting anybody? What Macy is doing is encouraging Deacon to be in his children's lives. She is not plotting to take the children _away_ from their current custodial parents. When two parents aren't living together, it is _normal_ for them to have some kind of mutual custody or visitation agreement. Keeping one parent completely out of the equation, like Brooke and Rick are doing, is the anomaIy here (this may not apply on the show, but where I live it is actually iIIegal and may cause a parent to _lose_ custody).
Macy's "revenge" consists of making Brooke take responsibility and do her _duty_ as a co-parent, instead of seIfishly monopoIizing a child that isn't only hers.

Episode 2545 at the 17: 20 minute mark (Season 10). Ridge tells Taylor that he only married Brooke the first time because of the children and that it was Taylor he really wanted to be with. The video is on this channel.

I am completely uninvested in the whole Bridge vs Tridge thing. But I want the writing to make sense. Ridge's words here are incompatible with what we have actually seen during the Bill Bell years.
For example, we actually _heard_ him tell Eric why he had chosen Caroline. And it had nothing to do with putting her on a pedestaI.

Let the terrible rewrite of Cridge and Tridge begin....as if they never happened. Well, the stans have that in common with the writers.....boring and shallow Bridge always looked so forced to me!🙈🥱
