    I’ve done this many times in other vehicles. I have a 2002 wrangler -x. Just wanted to see where it was, how difficult to get to. You did an excellent job. My ocd killed me as you were reconnecting the new piece. Long strand of hair dangling. Overall rating: 5 out of 5 stars!

    Very helpful video! Something I would NOT have been able to do without seeing your video. Not trolling, but offering a pro tip: once it's all plugged in, test it before screwing the motor resistor back into place and re-inserting the push-plug for the other connector.

      I had the same problem as you .The high speed fan speed would not work all the other speeds did work.I changed out the fan switch.The old one I could tell overheated and melted a little bit.Suppose to be fairly common with the TJ's.Cost about $27 from Advanced Auto.Pretty simple to do if you can use a screwdriver 😂

    I've got the 97 TJ and was having the issue of some fan settings not working, now I only get air (cold) when at 35+ mph...you think it's the resistor or the blower itself?

    • @duramaxdad
      @duramaxdad Год назад

      Check power at the blower by starting the engine. Turning on AC or heat and ck for 12 volts at the blower motor connector under dash passenger side.
      If u have power but fan is not moving then replace fan.
      No power? check fuse under hood, fuse behind glove box, then ck power at resistor and replace if necessary.
      Hopefully u r good.
      Not solved yet? Ck power at relay behind glove box.
      That’s what I learned today fixing my tj. Hope it helps someone.

    • @gearrunner

      Eastwind Farms A CJ stands for civilian Jeep a TJ is just a model it doesn’t mean anything 👍

    • @kingttx
      @kingttx 4 года назад +1

      I could be wrong on a few of these details but see if this helps you any.
      CJ was the first non-military Jeep like he said.
      Next came the YJ with square headlights and was the first model to be called a Wrangler, if memory serves me correctly.
      TJ was the next major model after the YJ and went back to round headlights and introduced the Rubicon edition. Somewhere between the YJ and TJ they started using coil springs instead of leaf springs. TJ also had a stretched model, the LJ and also called the Unlimited but still just two doors.
      JK was next, and now JL. I believe it was the JK that broke away from the venerable 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine and went to the Pentastar for the larger engine option. It also introduced the 4-door Unlimited models.

    • @duramaxdad
      @duramaxdad Год назад

      You say it blows air on all settings. Folks check to make sure it blows more air the higher you turn up the fan speed. Bad resistor usually means u lost 1 or more speeds. They either stop working or stay same as other other fan speed settings.
      Mine was the fuse under the hood. It would not blow any air on any speed. I tried the controller, then fuse behind glove box, then new relay behind glove box, then resistor, finally the fuse under the hood fixed it. I learned something. Hope it helps.
