- Lancia Voyager is a 7-seater minivan, which depending on time and place could be a Dodge Caravan, a Chrysler Town & Country or a Volkswagen Routan. After Fiat took over Chrysler a decision was made to limit the presence of American brands in Europe, focusing on models with the biggest sales potential or filling gaps in model lineups of other brands owned by Fiat. And so the Voyager became a Lancia.

Unbeaten in versatility and the only real 7 seater to deserve the name!
I recently ran into this at a local dealership. Just having had a test run in the Merc V-class, I was more than eager to see what this was up to. Stepping into the car was like stepping into a dream. Everything felt plush, thought out and nicely designed. You can imagine my surprise when taking it out on the road. I pushed it in the corners and things began flying. Even the much taller van based Ford Tourneo had better handling. Adding the poor fuel economy and thus added tax, I'm not even sure that it's more economic than the V-class in the end. So that was a disappointment...
Every time auto makers think of changing the badge on car, they should look back and remember Cadillac Catera (Opel Omega)...it never works but still they try it ;-)

I saw couple of these in front of the hotels and airports and they seemed nice. Still I would like to see full brand renaissance, from little Y up to sporty models. Hope Lancia will survive.
g00dfeeling Not much of a model lineup these days. Ypsilon is a Fiat 500, Thema is a Chrysler 300, and Ulysse (not a proper Lancia in the first place) is a Chrysler Town & Country. They even axed the Delta aka overpriced Fiat Bravo.
We remember Stratos from the 70s and Delta Integrale from the 80s, but apart from that, why would you ever want to buy a Lancia?
Marek Drives i remeber the lancia Thema from di '80-90.. My father had one, 2,5TD Station wagon Pininfarina, and it was ahead of its time, full specs! alcantara seats, arm rests, automatic AC, hydrulic steering, heated mirros, ABS, aluminum wheals, el. window font&rear, board computer... there was even a Ferrari version of it...
All italian politicians where driven in Lancia and I would love to see Lancia coming back! and not just sticking the badge on american cars
PajoPatak Polish politicians were chauffeured around in these too. My friend owned one a couple of years back. He couldn't afford proper maintenance, so the instrument cluster was lit up like a christmas tree ;)
Marek Drives We cannot expect from Lancia to develop separate platforms. Every car manufacturer is sharing architecture between different brands, especially VAG and PSA. In my opinion Fiat is the most successful as 500 and Y are the most distinctive cars in their segments. Just compare them with UP/Citigo/Mii which are so dull and lifeless vehicles. New model lineup with one independent model such as Fulvia would be perfect.
g00dfeeling True, but then you've got Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500 X, which look completely different and have different character. I don't expect anything from Lancia. I actually wonder, why FCA bothers to keep the brand alive. Lancia literally has two models in its lineup these days.

Daytime auto lamps can be enabled. I just disabled mine.
I live in the USA and i do have the 2013 Chrysler T&C touring L witch is the cheaper version of T&C . I have the 3.6l pentastar and it is a beast 288 hp and it pulls very good. Gas milage is very good on the highway on eco mode but in the city i only get about 16 MPG witch is about 14.6 liters per 100 km. its very comfortable and very roomy . I have three kids so this is the typical american family car. There are lots of plastic comparments inside and i dont think three adults can sit on the third row seat. Overall its a very good family car easy to drive and lots of technology for the money.
+Vini_Usa From European perspective this car is old, cumbersome, and inefficient. 16 MPG is reserved for high-performance sports cars ;)
+Vini_Usa If I could I would get an Honda odyssey or toyota sienna, but they are for the American market only and I am not paying the import tax. Other than that you pretty much only get crossovers here or full on vans configured as people carriers.
+cassius969 I did look for honda amd toyota but the chrysler is the best deal for the money. i paid in 2014 for mine 17k $ for the 2013 chrysler with 21k miles on it. toyota sienna with 90k miles no dvd or leather was 26k$ honda with 40k miles loaded was 34k$

5:36 -- the Voyager/GrandCaravan/Town and Country is a comfortable ride, certainly, but the old American Iron cars were far smoother.
Looks so pedestrian but... Id love a diesel one of these! So much space! I can put a kitchen and a sink there!

Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Ram C/V, VW Routon, Chrysler Voyager, now Lancia Voyager. Not quite as bad as Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, Saab 9-7X, all in the US market.
Kamaka Chang Yes, the Americans are particularly guilty of badge engineering. But then you buy one car, and find parts in every junkyard ;)
Hahaha don't forget the Oldsmobile Bravada! Unless that was maybe a Canadian exclusive along side the trail blazer/envoy/buick/saab/whatevertheywantedtocallit hahaha. What a trip!
I'll also add that I've owned an 04 oldsmobile silhouette.. Known by many from Chevrolet to buick, pontiac, opal and vauxhall.

How does it feel to own a lancia? Did u have any problems? I will buy one lancia 2.8 from 2014 but I have never owned a Lancia .

Actually, no need to limit the presence of American brands in Europe or any place for that matter..let the market decide what brand the market wants ??
But i believe any such decision to limit American presence was in response to limitations imposed on European brands on USA markets ? I recall some 20+ years ago when Mercedes-Benz further expanded in USA market they did not market the Mercedes-Benz Actros or Sprinter there. Instead the Sprinter vaguely appeared in USA as some Dodge branded model ? Then they used Mercedes-Benz parts in Freighliner trucks & Thomas buses...all USA brands as if the Mercedes-Benz brand of trucks, vans & buses 'never existed in this world' there !
Free choice of brand availability should have been given instead of deciding for the market what brand to offer or not to be offered. Let the brands themselves 'compete' for customer demand...the 'fittest' survives ought to be motto instead of trying to artificially 'protect' the existence of a brand ?

That's actually pretty neat. Most minivans are a total scam, the rearmost seats only fit children.

Loop44 did you watch the same video that I did? he specifically says , the only thing Lancia about this car is the badge, it's a chrysler. same company, FCA, different countries, different engineers.
did you read my last comment? i was referring to the DRL-satnav screen paradox. i suggest you try living with an italian car for a while, you'll see what i mean.
Loop44 From reading the comment i thought u were referring to the car as a whole,
+Loop44 +marekdrives the reason they're are now drls is because in America they turn signals are always on in the front. So u have an orange/Amber day time running light. So this means there is no need for a led strip or other bulb. So when it came to Europe it's was simply left out, which brings me on to the sat nav which suffers due to that problem
+james sinon There is an options to leave the nav screen on even with headlights on and it's permanent. You don't need to adjust it every time you turn the car on.
