Oh Emma…there is nothing wrong with a home cook. They are the best! My mom was one! Thank you for inviting us into your kitchen. Your pumpkin recipes are delightful. Thanks for sharing!
In the microwave, put it on the outer edge of the plate so that it travels round the microwave and cooks more evenly, rather than sitting in the centre spinning on one spot. Something I only recently learned - who knew there was a right way to microwave things!
How delicious! Thanks for the invite into your kitchen, it's so good to see a "real" lived-in kitchen, rather than something set up for a pretty video, it makes me feel better about the state of my own kitchen. 🙂 I use a similar sweet recipe for my HONEYNUT (mini butternut) SQUASH: Slice in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds. In each depression, add a tbsp butter. Drizzle each with a tbsp of honey and sprinkle with mixed spice. Four minutes in the microwave and YUM!
They look gorgeous, both of them. It was lovely to see you at home, and I'll try both recipes, but I haven't had squash before, so I'll let you know !!
Thanks Emma, I’ve got 4 Jack be Littles that I grew for the first time this year. I did a cheat and bought some of that Uncle Ben’s flavoured rice to stuff them with, I hadn’t thought about putting them in the microwave first, it will certainly speed up the cooking process. Love the sweet recipe too, I often have baked apples, which are Bramleys, cored and brown sugar and raisins/sultanas popped in the hole and then microwaved for 3-5 mins depending on the size of the apple.
Thank you for this video 😀...iv been searching for what pumpkins to grow this year over my arch and now I will def do jack be littles....please make more cooking videos with your produce, I love that your not a professional cook, just a normal person like us with small kitchens....much more realistic 😀 xxx
Hiya. Emma Thankyou for sharing. Yum! I can recommend the toasted seeds sprinkle your fave seasoning sweet or savoury great snack. We just had our Thanksgiving Holiday here across the pond southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
I was thinking of baking a nice custard in a pumpkin. I fear the pumpkin would turn to mush by the time the custard is cooked. Probably have to cook the custard separately and then serve it in a prepared pumpkin with some cinnamon and nutmeg some baked apple and walnuts would be wonderful too. Lots of ideas you’ve given me. Thank you.
Beautiful homegrown goodies ❤ I threw my microwave out once I've learned that it harms or basically kills the food you cook in it, so I would always go for oven cooking 🥰 Also, no hard feelings, but butter is no way near same thing as margarine. Margarine, actually is also unhealthy for our bodies ❤
I really hope the food you put in the oven is dead before you cook it. Mine definitely is before it goes in the microwave. I kill it myself thus decreasing the mileage and I know I have dug it up humanly
Absolutely going to try this brilliant I never grew them as I thought it’s just for the kids to carve out but next year I ll get them to grow up my arch way another idea I v picked up from watching you.r videos I v had a very bad year this year the heat got to much to do anything in the garden watering was a nightmare but I did get runner beans and potato’s some beetroot I am not much for salads but I am trying to grow them I love tomatoes and cucumbers but this year didn’t get round to growing them you got me ready to start again next year
I am going to try this with chicken rice (my favorite way to eat rice) added to the mushrooms and bacon. The chicken rice has peas, carrots, and chunks of chicken in a creamy cheese sauce. Thank you for sharing these recipes.
Youre cooking a sweet pumpkin just the way i planned. I just needed to see what temp and time was needed for it. Youre so lovely im a new subscriber. Great vid. Making 9 Jck B Littles for a ladies gathering and will serve with vanilla icecream and will be adding Nutmeg and some Ginger powder
Well, who needs Nigella! Thanks so much Emma! Don't worry about the kitchen - the point is that it's a real relatable kitchen! I've never even considered eating those before, but I'm going to give that a go! 🤟🎃❤️
I’ve never cooked with pumpkin ever but these both look delicious and I’ve been thinking of growing the jack b littles next year. I will have to give this a try
Both looked so simple to do but looked delicious! I've already got 2 months free of Readly and it's a great time to do it as all the special Christmas editions will be included ! Love your videos and am impressed how you have done so much to your new plot !😊🍂🍃🌱🍊🧀🥓🍽
😀 nice, both look delicious 😋 and a great use other than carving 😆 if you had a camping gas stove at your plot, you could show us some cooking straight from harvest 😀😀👍
Great ideas Emma 😊 I’d go for walnuts and kale in the savoury and the sweet it’d have to be light brown muscovado sugar, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg and some soy cream on top. Lovely video, your kitchen is so homely and snap, I spotted we have the same utensil holder 💕🦊
For the smallest ones, we hollow out, then put a nob of homemade chimichurri butter in it. Then nuke for 5 mins. No need to stuff, and makes a great lunch

I'd always thought pumpkins were just for putting candles in before you incinerate all your worldly possessions. So you can... what... eat them!? Wow who would've thought?

Try frying with ghee(clarified butter) so much more flavour. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Team butter here i even make my own on occasion x
That looks really nice. Actually a very substantial and hearty meal!
Both of your pumpkin recipes look delicious. Can't wait to try them! Thank you for sharing Emma.
Watching this while eating my pumpkin soup with ras el hanout, absolutely amazing
Enjoyed you rummaging around in your tiny kitchen. Such fun...you and Jack-be little. Looked yummy. Love to see more cooking on your vlogs.
Baked apple is lovely, basically just take out the core and stuff with dates or dried fruit, cinnamon if you like and bake until soft.
I’ve never tried pumpkin, you’ve inspired me Emma, thank you!

💯 correct about margarine. Absolutely horrible for people to eat.

Loved the video emma! Will be trying you recipes xx.
I have the same colour kitchen cupboards as you.
Thank you, as one of those viewers who have asked that before.
Some sultanas would be lovely in the sweet one 😊😊
You can plant those seeds if you don’t cook them. I would scoop out the seeds and pulp before you start cooking.
We have at least 50 little pumpkins from our garden this year
Based on this show I've bought these seeds for this year. xx
Looks yummy Emma thanks for that BTW what setting on the oven?
I've been hoping you would do this one! X

No seasoning in the rice, mushrooms & bacon? Or was I not paying attention?
Margarin is not the same as butter! One is made in an industrial process, the other one is natural :)
Super Emma's good video Top moestuin you the best te pompoenen thans te Vlog 🎃👍🤗🎈👻🍂🌞💐❤
Skip to 3 mins for her to start talking about the jack be little pumpkin 🎃
Your body is going to love all of that fiber 😂
Emma, if you really think butter and margarine are the same thing you need to seek professional advice at the first opportunity 🤣
Temp for microwave? Temp for oven?
