In all countries racism exists. In India, in the form of caste, religion or language. Not nice when we are at the receiving end.

I agree, racisim exists in India in different forms. Except that it is not “racism “, it is “discrimination “.
Discrimination exists in the form from color differences to social atatus.

@@sharmid9603 Indians can also be racist, ask to those Africans living in India. Many Indians make fun of them. All im saying where ever you go in the world, people are same.

One of my Indian friend in Oslo also faced racism at workplace. There were some candies kept on a table at the central area which anybody could eat( which is a usual practice there to keep things centrally , open to all for consumption) . But when he picked up the candy, a norwegian lady sitting nearby rudely said that “do not take it as it was private.”
There was no logic behind saying this.if they were private then they would not have been kept centrally .

Hi, my husband has received PhD acceptance from Sogndal. I have a 11 year old son, we are from India. Will he be able to manage in Norwegian school? Will they take away my son if he is lovely and running around kind, the happy playful like in India or is sad initially? I'm stressed out thinking about all this. Please reply, we have to move in May.

All societies are trust based. I don't know why people are so critical of india in every manner, but if you look at population, so much diversity in every aspect....still our country is way more inclusive and you are so free to be whoever you want to be(if you don't burden your mind from neighbour's which is also becoming a trend - individualism). People compare india to europe for diversity but i don't think its a right comparison, what about inclusiveness. People will never kill you for being from a different state😂 like in states.

I worked and lived in many countries. The first time I experienced racism was in South Africa. In international schools, staff and parents can also be racist. Despite that, I’ve had many wonderful experiences having taught kids from all continents.
Returning to India, I realise we are such a segregated society with caste divisions and treating humans unfairly cos of caste. So where does this stupidity end?

I have been living in USA from last 25 years. Went to Norway 2 weeks ago to visit my cousin in Oslo. Loved your Brown cheese, Bread, Cheese and Espresso House Coffee. Weather was not bad either. It was raining most of the time. Its very different from North America. I felt Norwegian people are socially awkward but that doesn't mean they are racist. One thing i noticed is that People don't smile and say hello at all.... Overall i enjoyed my visit. BTW ! if you crave Indian food , Jaipur Indian restaurant in Oslo is the best . Food was so delicious!

"people don`t smile and say hello at all"..hmm-that probably depends on the situation. On public transport, or on the streets..most people are indifferent. Depends on the density of people, perhaps. Also, I can`t say that I`ve noticed much difference, if any, between how people behave in Oslo (public transport or on the streets),where I live, compared to Copenhagen, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Cologne..or Sydney Australia, for that matter. PS: glad you liked the brown cheese, NOT a big fan of it myself. Never tried Jaipur restaurant, but I LOVED "Mister India"-great palak paneer. Greetings from Oslo.
