Enough with all the sleep rubbish. Can we acknowledge how bloody brilliant this series is. Hats off to all the producers, researchers, directors, and editors. Colourists too. Cheers. You guys deserve it.
There's a book called Windswept Lies of War, and it talks from censored history and hidden secrets to lost files and classified documents about World War II, it's the real deal.

Man, these videos have made me late for work so many times. I just can't seem to put my phone down and go to sleep like a normal person. How can you not get immersed. Brilliantly narrated. Many unknown facts. I actually come away feeling like some sort of historical guru. Honestly, magnificently put together.
Fun fact, but when I can't fall asleep, I always listen to historical videos like this, lying in bed without lights, and I fall asleep in 15 minutes 👍🏻
Agreed 100% but it’s RUclips and the video would immediately get taken down and the channel would be banned and shut down. Wish I knew where I could find the original.
@@yangsrealm2536The original is now owned by the History Channel and its sister networks. It is sometimes replayed on the AHC network (American Heroes Channel). Search it on your smart TV to find it.
I think part of the swearing-in ceremony to be a congressman or senator should include many hours of these videos so they can learn the horror and consequence of being a warmonger
Man this started auto playing and the theme music immediately took me back to being a child playing in the living room floor while my grandpa sat in his rocking chair watching WW2 in color.
Sleep rubbish for algorithm purposes is 100% ideal for yours truly. Pay no mind to the prickly and keep doing what you’re doing. Thank you for this. Unspeakable gratitude for the hero’s back in the day that were able to capture such footage.
Can't believe that it's to fall sleep, I've been using these documentaries for the past 3 to 4 years in medical school..... I would opened them right before i fall sleep.
Some of these shots are outright crazy. For example, at 2:48:24 The clock in a destroyed house still runing while soldiers are rushying west in the background is an incredibly poetic/sad/ironic piece of footage. It's almost like its from a poem. I would really love to know more about the reporters (or soldiers themselves) that took those images...
this episode of WWII in colour “operation overlord” is some of my favorite tv. I quote the Eisenhower line constantly. “After a long pause, let’s go he said”
Love this series absolutely astonishing the work made to produce this only thing i don’t agree so much with is the blurring of explicit images, sometimes we need things like this to remind us of the horror war is and why it mustn’t became a way to solve world affairs
Ahh I'm so glad I found this! I used to watch WW2 in colour all the time on Netflix as my background telly. But for some reason they replaced it with "greatest events of WW2 in colour". It has mostly the same footage, but it's a different narrator and has historians coming in every couple of minutes which to me, just ruined the flow of the story telling. It was also quite annoying as there were some German historians so you had stop what you were doing to be able to read the subtitles!
There is an error regarding Roosevelt. The narrator said he died on April 13th 1945 of a heart attack. That is incorrect. He died on April 12th 1945 of a cerebral hemorrhage.

This is also my comfort sleeping documentary
This narrator has the best voice to listen to for these types of documentaries :)
they also have a nice music play on the background
Robert Powell I'm pretty sure he was the narrator
Started to fall asleep to wwii-docs in the 90's, then it was the "Battlefield"-series
@@guttormmarkussen2662the narrator then was Tim Pigott-Smith this was as mentioned above Robert Powell. Very similar voices
He also did Churchhill's Bodyguard and Hilter's Bodyguard, amongmany others..

One of the better ways to .
😂😂 Nice perspective man 😂😂 🤜🤛
and his buddy falls asleep to it in forever sleep. terrifying.

Crazy asf
It's History brought to life....And the enormous debt we owe to all the allied fighters against fascism.

The only problem is i watch it before bed and when i wake up i NEED to figure where i left off. Because i don't want to miss 1 min. Appriciate you guys! Also thumbnail those are ww1 helmets still love ya tho!
The thumbnail is British soldiers it looks like and that is what their helmets looked like in WW2 virtually identical to their WW1 helmets.
British helmet used by infantry in WW 1 and WW 2 known as a "Brody". The thumbnail image itself was taken in WW 2.
I've used this to fall asleep for years and it's because the narration is so perfect
Same
Davie504 cameo in the thumbnail

Was gonna say this too bro like wtf

Watching and trying to sleep. Worst combination ever.
Thank you. This condensed format is one of my favourite alongside TimeGhost's World War 2 week-by-week coverage
Best part of this video is I can watch it 4 times and still see something new each time
Five hour shift timed out with four hours of history thank you much to all involved keep teaching history we can't let it be forgotten
censoring the carnage does a disservice when learning about the horror of war

I do in fact fall asleep to these. Have for almost a year now.
Thank you, thank you again!!

I love you for these very active posting
I think blurring out the gruesomeness an nastiness of war is a bad thing.. People need to see what war really is!!
I agree with you but I'd wager that RUclips does not. The channel is likely trying to avoid having their video age-gated and demonetized.
@@aremel42 When I was a kid during the Vietnam war they would show pretty graphic stuff on TV.

This is WW2 in Colour, the best WW2 documentary ever made. Stop claiming it as “ww2 facts to fall asleep to”
That’s what the majority of people do to it though….
I can't sleep to this, the music is too intense. Big bummer a program that goes 4 hrs is a good thing.

"Come to our industrial sized ice cream shop on the uninhabited part of the isles of white, strategically located across from fortress europe"
The fact we have to blur images makes me think we’ll eventually repeat these bloody conflicts
