    Andrew Solomon is the bestselling, award-winning author of Far From The Tree: Parents, Children and the Search of Identity, A Stone Boat, and The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression, which won the 2001 National Book Award. He is an activist and philanthropist in the areas of LGBT rights, the arts and mental health, and has lectured all over the world. He is a lecturer in psychiatry at Cornell. He lives with his husband and their son in New York and London.
