My Hometown of Minturn until 1962. Born in Gilman in 1947, which was the mining town you passed with graffiti, miss my Hometown. Hello from KS, we lived in CO many many years and drove over Tennessee Pass and many others. It has been a real joy to ride over these passes with you riding shotgun. Thank you for making it so enjoyable! Keep em coming!!
Omgosh the scenery for this run is absolutely beautiful. I've yet to travel to and through Colorado. Thank you for taking me along 👍, it helps scratch the itching I have to travel ...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, omg, you got me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 with "Damn it Jim!",,,, 👍👍👍👍 That was a favorite saying between my Sister and I,,, You brought her back to me, God rest her soul 💕😆💕 ✌✌✌✌
I was hoping you would have taken us through Leadville. It's been years since my wife and I went through there moving from Texas to Oregon. Back in Texas now. After 35 years in Oregon and California glad to be home. As a short-term trucker back in the 80's, I always enjoy your commentary and beautiful videos.
I love all the back country roads you take us on. You show us some of the most beautiful parts of our country. Your adventurous spirit is a blessing for us all. And your sense of humor, running dialogue and knowledge of the areas you travel are fascinating. You seem to have knowledge of every little side road in the country...AWESOME! Love your humor...really ! It is like riding in the cab Shotgun. Be safe and gavd a great 4th of July with your family. Keep doing what you do best...keeping our country moving and enjoying life to the fullest
Just got a cup of coffee sitting here with ya watching this wonderful footage of your trip Ya making me home sick for the road.Such pretty country sit here and watch all day Thanks for sharing a d thanks for all the ling hours ya put in to do what ya do Your family should be proud of ya xxxx
The tracks alongside the road at Tennessee Pass are those of the D&RGWRR. They haven't seen regular use since the late 90s, although there has been talk recently of them being bought by someone in Kansas and re-opened for grain shipments. Tennessee Pass is/was the highest altitude (10,221' ASL) standard gauge main line RR crossing in North America.
When was white people enslaved I know it was 200 years ago but we still are not free to some people would you invite the black man you talk to , to spend the night in your home I was enjoying riding with you but you are showing how you feel about my race good by good luck on the road
Howdy Mountain Man Trucker Mike. Beautiful country to go thru. I agree with you. There is so much crap going on. I living in Oregon have to deal with our democratic governor. Thanks heavens I don’t live in Portland anymore.
Thanks for the video. Makes me homesick. I was born and grew up in Leadville. I used to take that drive everyday for years. It gets downright dangerous when icy.
Thanks for the ride Mike! I haven't been up that highway since 2003 when I had went up with a group of fellow Jeepers up to St. Elmo and Mt. Antero. That is some beautiful country up there!
This is just about the most beautiful drive I have seen in a long time. I only been out west as far as Texas. Someday I want to travel some and see the USA. Have a wonderful week.
Don’t wait!! You won’t regret going out west. Absolutely gorgeous out there I’ve been on this road...was in January 2006. Went up a mountain on a snowmobile tour...stood in snow up to my waist...haha
The best view soo beautiful all green trees fresh air ❤❤❤❤❤🤩👍👍✌the weather are so perfect and peaceful. and a gentle driver ☺ watching from Saudi working as a truck driver class B. but am a pilipino from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Just spectacular weather and views on this run. The town we drove through built very unique shops and businesses with residents out and about. Mike thank you for another very thoughtful trip with narrative. ❤
14:00 - that ghost town is Gilman. Was on a snowmobile tour in 2006 that went up Notch Mountain Road...about 3/4 of the way up to the Tigiwon House, we stopped and the guide told us about Gilman being deserted in ‘84...the water system was contaminated with lead I believe. Crazy that it still looks the same 15 years after having been there
I have seen many garage door pull's like that and some knot's and many other kinds, I agree with you, total nonsense! I love watching your videos and I enjoy them. Keep making them please

Hi Mike: All the political bs aside, this was a good ride. Great scenery, good road, not much traffic. I’m amazed that with your busy schedule you can find time to ride these great secondary roads. Seems as if time constraints would dictate that you drive the interstate system as much as possible? Thank you for the ride. Edward
Man I’d love to be in the passenger seat for one of these rides! Do me a favor and run a winter contest where the winner gets to physically ride shotgun through the frozen passes with you. Just so you don’t have to bother with picking a winner I’ll just go ahead and say “CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS C!!” Thanks man. See you in January.
