Dr. KP Yohannan, Gospel for Asia's founder, recently did an interview with Francis Chan, a well-known pastor and writer, where they talked about the lawsuit and the work on the mission field.
After three long years, Gospel for Asia's legal battle is over. We never thought our ministry would face accusations like what we faced in this lawsuit, but we are grateful that the Lord has seen us through and sustained the work on the mission field in even greater ways than before. In 2018, more than half-a-million people put their trust in Jesus.
As our founder Dr. K.P. Yohannan said, “Throughout GFA's 40 years of existence, our hearts and passion have been to bring Christ's love to a broken and hurting world. We did not look for personal gain. Above all, we have sought to honor the Lord in our personal lives, in the ways we serve and by maintaining our integrity.”
KEY POINTS OF THE GOSPEL FOR ASIA LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT
A Brief Overview of Our Three-year Legal Battle:
-The decision to settle is not an acknowledgement of guilt by Gospel for Asia.
-The final court document concluded that both parties “mutually stipulate that all donations designated for use in the field were ultimately sent to the field.”
-The settlement agreement also clearly states that our position is that the evidence demonstrates:
----All funds designated to the field were sent to the field and used for ministry purposes.
----No Individual Defendant, as defined in the agreement, received any improper personal gain or enrichment from or related to donated funds.
-During the legal proceedings, we retained one of America’s big four accounting firms to conduct an objective analysis of the flow of Gospel for Asia funds to the field. They concluded that all money given had made it to the field.
-After three years, the court asked us to attempt to settle.
-Our Board members decided to accept the settlement, because if the lawsuit continued for another two to three years, nothing would be left of the ministry’s resources or reputation.
According to the settlement terms, we must still pay the remaining $11 million of the settlement within a year.
-If you wish to donate your settlement claim back to GFA to help cover the final costs of the settlement, you can do so just as you would with any other donation. Once you receive the claim check in the mail, you can donate to Where Most Needed to help us overcome this challenge.
-If you wish to help us with the final costs of the settlement, you can do so by giving a general donation to Where Most Needed.
-We continue to undergo annual audits conducted by Payne, White and Schmutz and those audits have been unqualified (i.e., “clean”).
-Our heart and passion has always been and will always be to bring the love of Christ to the most hurting and broken in our generation.

Of all the Bishops in India, he was preaching the gospel in a more sensible way..When I was young and had only a radio at home 40 years ago, at 5.45 AM I would get up listening to his inspiring talk. It was like a modern tedX talk to everyone who listened to him and his voice had a magical feel on our ears. So thankful for God's faithfulness to KP Yohannan and Gospel for Asia. Eternity will show how many who have never heard of Christ will be in heaven because of the faithfulness and suffering of God's servant.
We very recently found out about the lawsuit. By the time we learned about it it was already settled. I thank God for it, as we didn't have to question our giving during this. Now that we understand how the legal system works, we know that anyone with a true heart serving God only is going to have trouble until they one way or another are forced to cave to pressure. We believe Bro. K.P. is one of the most sincere out there and we stand behind him.

First time I heard about this situation; as I live in Australia and dont live off the 'news,' I listened, was interested in what was asked and how questions were answered and 'listened to 'the Peace' of MessiYah guarding my heart & mind was Peaceful, and I am happy in Christ to continue in my support of GFA's missions. Never knew about this lawsuit. I just started reading brother KP's book and was so inspired and know that gfa is truly a work from God, spreading Jesus like wildfire. All glory to God.
I have been a supporter of GFA throughout this time.and will continue to do so. My take on this is that there is such a significant good work that is being done by GFA, the enemy wishes to take it down.

I have been following K.P for years, his impact in the world through obeying the Holy Spirit has not only changed millions of lives in the east but also in the west! His heart for the Lost should be the heart of the church of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for posting. I have to admit and after we donated thousands of dollars to you-I too was upset. A little history, I go to a church where they used to put you on the radio and every Christmas they would hand out your Christmas catalog-It was beautiful! Then the lawsuit and the immediate mass exodus from your ministry. Even I got caught up in the debacle and instead of doing my own research and focusing on the Gospel I got caught up in the gossip. Even my wife, Jesus bless her, did not give up on you. And after the last couple of years I was still hesitant and even when we got your letters in the mail I would almost cringe, but my wife would tell me to not worry and to keep giving. Clearly she has the gift of discernment :). I now ask for forgiveness! I started to focus on my first works and return to my first LOVE and the LORD gave me a peace about your ministry. I too am taking your Godly advice to steer clear from social media platforms. Oh, so much training I have yet to ever get it right this side of eternity. Jesus Bless you in all you do and may He continue to provide and never stop pruning you to do even more work -John 15. Until He returns or takes us home! Jesus Bless you!!!

I never believed the lawsuit. I continued to give. I'm blessed with the spirit of discernment and I just knew this was an attack from satan. God continue to bless this ministry.

It has now become more and more apparent to me that there are western evangelicals who are uncomfortable with how Christians of other cultures express their faith. There is an unspoken assumption that western expressions of worship are superior to others. Our faith does NOT have to look like Western Christianity. You may wear skinny jeans to church while others wear robes. Additionally, in many cultures it is typical to bow to express honor to the elderly. It doesn't mean they are worshipping the person. Finally, I'm appalled that donating money to missions is now a way for the west to control the people they donate to, as exemplified by the way many asked for a refund from GFA. For those evangelicals whose donations to missions equals control, "your money perish with you!" It is an embarrassment that so-called believers were willing to go to a court of law about this. In any case, the Lord will reveal whose side He is on in due time for "vengeance is mine!" sayeth the Lord.
I donated for many years to this ministry. And then I got caught up in the negative publicity and spent hours listening and reading the accusations. For that I regret. I am one of those armchair critics and was too quick to judge, as I was drifting into cynicism. I thank God that He gave me this opportunity to hear directly from Mr KP, and I have no doubt his heart is humble and his love is Jesus and the Kingdom of God. I do not remember if I added myself to the class action lawsuit, however, if I did, I will commit today that if any money comes I will donate 7 times back to the ministry.

Thank you for doing this interview KP & Francis! I supported a couple of GFA Missionarios for years after I read KP's "Revolution in World Missions". That book rocked my world! I've been a huge advocate of GFA and when the allegations came out I first just laughed at them. When I got a letter in the mail saying I could take part in the lawsuit, then I really started to wonder. KP - thank you for always following the Lord no matter how hard Satan attacks!

Having been to India with my son, Nathanael, I saw firsthand the incredible ministry of GFA helping people in the slums in Delhi, ministering among the Leper colonies near Lucknow, providing assistance among the widows islands in East India, caring for the poor in cities like Calcutta and Kerala. KP Yohannan is leading GFA to drill thousands of Jesus Wells in villages without access to clean water, to teach thousands of illiterate women to read and write, to provide for over 70,000 kids in after-school Bridge of Hope programs, and so much more! Bloggers critical of KP act like experts about what is going on at GFA, and criticize from their internet la-zy-boy armchairs in the West, but have never been to Asia to see firsthand the amazing work God is doing through GFA to show Christ's love and share His hope with the poor in so many nations throughout Asia.

I was very angry with God a few years ago as why He allow demonic beings to have so much power to push people around, our current conditions still have room for expansion. I have not yet start my assignment and is entertaining to see how far I can go with the help from above.wish Jesus tell me in advance, but I’m 90% sure he doesn’t.after listening 2 real Christians talking which gives me some ideas of how to deal with my journey better without facing a lot of unnecessary emotional pain. This interview doesn’t strike me of a man wanting to get rich like an American tv evangelist but a man who has his mortality at the forefront of his thinking, contemplating entering the presence of god and giving an account of his life. I hope those who brought the law suits have similar thoughts crossing their mind before it’s their time to enter into his presence. My family will keep supporting GFA .

You have done your part in finishing the Great Commission in India..I believe you are partners with the Apostle Thomas who came to our part of India 2000 years ago. I pray that you will be part of finishing what Thomas started. May the gospel go forth without hindrance and be glorified in India.
2:15 “Without suffering, you cannot serve the Lord”. Amen. We want to be Jesus, but without the Cross. We want to be like the Pentecostal leaders who claim to heal hundreds. We want to be like Protestant leaders who have the true teachings and can have the authority of holding truth like Jesus did. But not many of us are willing to carry the cross, to do what’s hard but right, to be patient and humble. Jesus calls us to be His witnesses. To be healers and teachers like He was, but also sacrificial, loving, and humble. Willing to be lowest and do what is hard and painful. Lord help us.

Amazing man! All respect for him. I met his those many years ago in the early 70's when he came and preached in our church in Singapore and even in my own church in Johor Bahru, Malaysia (while on visit on OM's MV Logos, I think). We became friends and kept in touch for many years. We used to write to each other till both of us moved and I lost contact. With the help of the internet, its great to be able to see and hear him and of him and the work he has done. Thank God for this man and the work GFA and BC is doing. My prayer is that God's kingdom be advanced so that many more will experience the love of God. May God's grace be up this man of God! Sincere regards. JI.

Hey, i`m brazilian and just read the Revolution in World Missions. I bought this for just 8 reais (about 2.5 dollars). The book was lost there. Thanks God i can read in English and that was a great gift and a warning from God, saying that i have to insist about being a missionary and preach to unreached people. But what about those scandals! Could someone explain it all to me! Tks a lot!
Talk more about the actual lawsuit and why there was a lawsuit to begin with. Sometimes an ending is the beginning of sometime new 5:04. Good to hear KPs feelings especially when associated with someone trustworthy like francis chan but facts are lacking. There is a struggle and there is confusion. There is no admission of any wrongdoing or we could have done this thing or that thing better. Frustrating. Praying for KP.

Today is the day of salvation! Jesus Christ shed His perfect blood for *you* at Calvary. He died for *all* your sins - past present and future - was buried and rose again the third day. He appeared to over 500 people at once and then ascended to heaven. He is coming back one day to judge the earth. All he ask you to do is believe in Him. Trust in Jesus Christ alone as *your* personal saviour and He will give you eternal life. You cant lose eternal life or it wouldnt be eternal. That is the good news of the gospel! 🙂

I love GFA and they are a charity I started supporting some years back. Found out about their legal predicament a few months ago and was shocked....thought they were over as couldn't find anything but the articles. Glad I came across this.
The early church wore robes and Saudi Arabia still does because they’re wearing the ancient garb. I think it’s good because you’re not showing all your body parts which can lead to lustful thoughts.
