- A severe thunderstorm that passed through on the evening of 6/26/2024. We did not get the worst of it where I am, some of the surrounding towns sustained some serious damage from this storm. The NOAA All Hazards Radio channel seemed to have gone out during this storm, perhaps the transmitter was struck by the lightning.
There were no brownouts this time, but all air conditioners and dehumidifiers were shut down for the storm and started up again afterwards to clear the humidity from the air. Наука
Got this storm too. Worst of it went around us but still a neat storm
Thank goodness that storm wasn't the worst storm
That's a lot of lighting that happened during that thunderstorm 😯
At least the storms near you hold together. Unlike here in Essex county NJ. They break up, everytime....
Another light show for the record books, I was directly hit by a "destructive 80mph" system that same night, and the streetlight outside my house flickered a few times, meaning I nearly lost power. There wasn't much damage as per expectations but the storm definitely caused some problems near my area.
I got this storm too in Massachusetts. I did not get much of this storm though. Glad you are safe!
I do the very same thing, I don’t care for bugs much in fact i really dislike them, however just like you said in the video if there’s a lightning bug stuck inside, I always put them back outside. I just always love watching them all light up and create a cool looking scenery especially in the woods.
If there is a transmitter outage you can call the NOAA Weather Radio phone number that you get the SAME codes from and record a transmitter problem report
The Storm was pretty decent I enjoyed seeing the blue lighting bro I enjoyed the video
i collect NOAA weather radios aswell as fans! weather radios are very good for your safety
Well I don’t know if there’s a channel for these in Canada😢
LMAO😂😂 23:25 « were you searching radioactivity with that device?? » funny!😆
Yeah, the other day my weather radio went off about 4 times. Once however, it sounded the alert for a severe thunderstorm watch, but no audio came through. Perhaps there was some issue because the other alerts were fine. I'm hoping it's not the radio. I have the same Midland as yours and have it not that long.
I had a power outage today
Yeah me too!
I didn’t know you had a Midland WR120!
i believe he has had that radio for quite some years now
How did you made Spotify work on Windows XP?? 0:09
That is a sever storm that’s happened to my grandmothers NOAA
Very cool all-weather radios. I've always wondered where you would get one of these because I'm kind of curious. Even though I'm in Canada, they're fascinating to me.
Also, what were you listening to on Spotify at the beginning of the video?
I would certainly prefer the weather radios with the battery option as they can be taken to place to place without outlets and can function during a power failure
Thanks for letting me know.
I recognize the model of his radios, and they have battery backup.
@@Riverbend1752 oh that’s good to know
@@anthonynoga Yeah, it's the best of both worlds. They run on mains power so don't go through the batteries as quickly, but then if the power goes off (or you unplug it to take with) it instantly switches to battery power.
@@Riverbend1752 I like it
Hey what sate do you live in ?
🇬🇧, Has your 🇺🇸 state have civil-defence sirens for tornado warnings? It was a bit confusing seeing you quickly turning off the essential electrical things at the start of the video ~ assuming your state has highway side pylons for electrical distribution = risk of being struck by lightning. My youngest brother Matthew loves watching lightning and hearing thunder and have liked to have watched that storm, as I am in the UK, because of climate change I think we are starting to get server thunderstorms ?
Many areas that are prone to severe weather have sirens, but the sirens are only intended for outdoor alerting. You can't rely on them to be audible indoors. This is especially true in this video where there's all that equipment running. That's why we have the Emergency Alert System to send emergency messages over broadcast media and NOAA Weather Radio as a dedicated source of weather information.
Most likely the transmitter got struck by lightning, which sucks because if there is a tornado warning, someone may not know it.
You have a point.
I assume that if that part/state in the 🇺🇸 was prone to them = they would have civil-defence sirens that would sound the alert to additionally warn
Nice

OK
