You prefer Swing Trading, but in this video you did a great job staying neutral when explaining the pros and cons of each. Thank you for that. Great video.
Guys, swing trading is the case :) Sasha knows what he is talking! I was scalping in the past and i am sick of it. It is not going to work long term. It is not a nice place to stick around for long time, it is stressful.... Trading daily and weekly timeframe is real freedom :) Thanks Sasha!
thanks for explanation..which is swing trader is over more days and day trade is in a day or not even a day. I study countless videos, interviews on swing trading and experts like yourself, always say how the big money is made in swing trading. From my experience, the markets are very difficult to trade. For example, in an uptrend..as swing trader or trend trader, we expect it to go up, so we buy. But then there could be a pullback, you get stopped out, ok you increase your stop. But then there is more risk..and when it goes up, we may not know where to place the stop, maybe too close, get stopped out..to far, it pulls back or even the stock reverses..it is soo hard to time it. Not saying that people haven't made money trading the markets, but it is like gambling. So what am saying, when trading we predict, but is like based on nothing, not fundamentals because trading is usually in a day or over a number of days..so mostly fundamentals won't matter that much. Of course there are probably many ways to trade the markets, what I am saying is swing trading as in trend trading has never worked for me. I can only guess probably day trading is in a way similar in the way it is based on nothing usually. Uptrend, you buy, but based on what. yeah it's going up. Doesn't mean it can't pullback or reverse..gambling..lol Just my opinion and experience..
Hey there, not sure you need this anymore but I had the same problem you are having, for years I could not figure it out. TRADING IS RANDOM AND YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PREDICT AN OUTCOME. What gives you an edge/makes you profitable, is your mind. If you review your personal experience with market behavior and pick the most profitable reoccurring situation experienced, and TRADE NOTHING ELSE BUT THAT, with strict risk reward rules. YOU WILL HAVE RANDOM WINS AND LOSSES but I promise you will become profitable. THIS MEANS LESS TRADES, It also helped me to chart my weekly profits to monitor my mind/account size in order to stay consistent.
There's ton of money to be made with covid 19. Lokk into government contracts for the vaccine. Look at Biopharma in general. There is money to be made, but volatility will always be present in some shape or form.
Hi Sasha again! I got a very important question. I will be swing trading / Day trading, so i will be making a lot of transactions. And I will probably need quick data. I have been looking into Interactive Brokers and Tradestation. Which one do you think is better of day trading to reduce my commission costs and other costs. Or do you recommend others? I'm looking more into I.B as I can trade Asia stocks as I live in Asia. However, I would not mind to trade US stocks too. I just need to ensure that I can day trade without suffering too much commissions with quick data and good charts with little delay. Thanks!
Alright! Thanks then! Look forward to your reviews. According to my research most people feel that I.B is the best in regards with the execution and the charges are really cheap too. So I'm probably gonna set up an account for that
swing trading is not opposite to day trading, its opposite to scalping scalping is entering and exiting on the same candle, and swing trading is buying and selling from swing point to swing point, it can be done intraday
scalping is when you're just trying to grab a little bit of a nickel or a dime off the trades. In other words you're really day trading but in a quick trade. More closer to day trading
Really good video thank you, Can i ask what do people mean when they say the play both sides or trade both sides. So long and short at the same time? how to make money if its something like crypto which makes really crazy moves? wont you risk big losses as you gain? how to know which to liquidate and hope the other keeps in its progressive direction? Thanks in advance Chris
Try trading with a company,, most companies like block space only take 20% of your profit,,, it is better than total loss of funds,,I have earned a lot since I started investing with block space
Hi there, I'm looking into trying this trading lifestyle but I'm not sure if it's for me. I work full time, 3-4 days a week (12 hours each day, not consecutive days). If yes, which is better for me, Day Trading or Swing Trading? Thank you.
5 mins or 15 mins day trade will be better for you, due to work time frame. you can make a lot within this time frame when u operate with your strategy effective. Day trading is better option to earn more rapidly.
Jessa Murillo, You are welcome! You see, Investing in stocks is an activity that really requires time and there are definitely a lot of things to take in consideration when trading. Do you have a reliable strategy....Jessa..?
Nice video Sasha. I was wondering why you didn't mention something SUPER important? That is the fact that if your account is less than $25K you are limited to I think 5 day trades in a week or is it two weeks? Either way, getting stopped out in the same day is considered a day trade. That can get one in trouble with too many day trades.
You have to be willing to risk a lot of capital to swing trade. Enough so that when a stock moves .20-.25 cents you're up $350-$450 dollars or more and you can get out with some profit. Easily doable with strong stocks. Patience is the key.
but on the other hand if you day trade and put up the same amount of capital for a gain of 3 or 5 cents you can be up 350 - 400 easy it's just a scaled down more predictable version of swing trading
+Og maco Sheesh swing trading is more predictable in my opinion because the expected low and expected high are more accurate over a longer period of time
Hi Sasha, thanks for your informative videos. In regards to swing trading, I have been slowly gaining experience w/ it with holdings between 1 day to 1 month. I understand the basic concepts of entering/exiting, but I’m not 100% clear on when (what time of day) I should be entering my position. As an example, say one evening I am reviewing a stock that I am watching and I noticed that during the day it made a move up past an entry point that I have decided upon. Do I buy the stock on the open the next morning, or do I let it do its thing in the early regular trading hours before getting in?
Hi Sasha, thanks for this and your other educative videos. Good video Саша. Which would you recommend for beginner futures trader (Emini, soybeans) on a tight budget of , let's say, $2000 to start with ? Leaning towards price action day trading to start with. Is this a reasonable approach ?
I think you need a minimum or $10,000 or $25,000 to open a futures account. Not advisable for a beginner, since you can lose it all on one bad trade if you don't know what you're doing, due to the leverage involved.
Always invest surplus the one not required , initially go for swing trade, things go bad, hold it or have stop loss .... key is surplus amount in your bank.. beginner advise ...
swing trading sounds more like something I´d be interested in. I been looking into stocks and your channel certainly helps a lot. If you went to college, what did you major in?
hi, i am a big fan of your channel. i trade stock in Vietnam, i did day trading and i wanted to move to swing trading recently and i lost a lot of money. i just wanna to know how to handle the stress from holding the position overnight. i feel terrible pressure, sometime i am so agitated. thks a lot my friend
since in both you guess the price based in the charts, Day trading is safer, because in swing trade maybe a new anouncement will have an effect in your chart analysis! If your guess for the price depends on charts then you dont want anything to break your technical analysis, if your guess is on fundementals then your guess for the price will take years to reach the level. Am i missing something? technical analysis is much riskier in swing trading and fundamentals cant help your swing trading.
I think in case of long term investments it is also a big different, that people use larger amounts of money. I can think of 6-7 digit sums. I someone invests a 6 digits sum in a stable growing company, in one or two years this money might multiply. If I check e.g. Daimler in Germany, a few month back their shares were at ca. EUR 40, now they are around 60. If someone works with 6 digit sums, this can be a very profitable investment...
Sasha I know you're busy and I appreciate your vids a lot. I'm just starting to be more educated and will wait a few months to trade until I know what I'm doing. Just a quick question, I have a lot of capital from years of working and saving, but at the same time I don't need a lot to live, 50-75$ a day is more than enough. Can I live off day trading? I'm also risk averse and worry about reversals. If I have the discipline and devotion to work on it, can I minimize my risks and survive off this?
@@tradersflyofficial Thanks. Hmm so why not invest? Inflation & the steady rise in some companies would make it near impossible to lose money I would think

I would be very careful about swing trading in a bear market. Letting stocks ride is a disastrous strategy when stocks are heading downward. I learned that the hard way :-(
I slightly Disagree cuz day traders watch their screens all day. It’s hard to lose a lot if you’re watching your positions. While swinging you’re typically not monitoring everything and big changes can happen during that. But I do agree if you are trading full time and monitoring everything swinging can be less risky cuz you’re usually diversified more and have time on your side.
Yeah it can,,but the best way to earn without loss is investing with a licensed company, I have earned a lot since I started investing with a company,, I invest almost every week and get my profit weekly,, they are the best
Lots of things can make a market move - including natural disasters. Depending on where and how big they are - they can disrupt supply routes which does things like drive up prices or a supply outage which affects profits. The disaster may require a lot of goverment and business resources to rescue/fix the situation - diverting money and people from market growth activities. Hope that helps give some context.
When you do swing trading, do you place options often? I really enjoy your videos, they are very informative and are much better than all the other crap you find..
Check with your broker on this, before you try to day trade with a regular account. There used to be a minimum balance and a margin account was required. My account got suspended for pattern day trading in a regular account once. It was many years ago though, so not sure if there are still restrictions.
To trade swing trading I think one need a huge investment first because without the support of bigger invest you would not able to hold a trade for more than one day. Rather than having a big investment one can surely trade swing trading by having high leverage like I do. I use 1:2000 leverage for my trading. I trade with AAFX’s fixed account. They give me the leverage power so that I can trade with bigger lot.
There are other differences that you didn't mention. Day trading requires a minimum balance, a special day trading account and a margin account (or at least it did, years ago). Swing trading has no such requirements. If you try to day trade in a regular (non-margin) account, your account will be flagged or suspended. If you hold a position overnight in a day trading account, you may also get flagged. Also, the tax rates are higher for short term "trades" than they are for long term "investments" (or at least they used to be).
Ok, thanks for that detailed reply. I haven't tried day-trading, margin buying or shorting stocks since my account got suspended back in 2001. Not only did I have to transfer my funds to another broker, but I also had to transfer stock. I only swing trade nowadays. If I don't think I can make a profit by selling my position and then buying it back 3 days later, I just hold it through the little dips.
If one are accurate enough, one can take advantage of the compound effect for day trader. In other words, day trader if in the right direction can gain more than swing trading given low trading cost like commission.
I would imagine that if someone wanted to become a swing trader it would be a good thing to use the Robinhood App otherwise commissions would eat up your profits ??
hi im Michael, what if Im doing DAYTRADING, but then at the end of the day, I did not sell my stocks or don't want to sell out?? whats gona happen?? am I just gona be consider as a swing trader?
Because many years ago there was a shooting and the elected officials tried to curb or slow down trading activities because they were afraid people might get addicted who were not mentally sound. Happened in the 90s I believe

i did both and lost $400 in day trading today. So I disagree completely, day trading is way more riskier in my opinion
I agree, in swing trading you can at least make some kind of prediction, where in day trading it's mostly gambling.
Agreed, I've lost a lot of money on day trading, hoping the market to bounce frequently which it end up going down and leave my entry point.
If day trading is gambling, imagine scalper trading at 1:500 leverage. I tried that on my demo account and I lost $1,600 in a matter of minutes. Haha
