I love Elena's perfect control over her body, especially in a slow piece like this. However, I think the only reason why she doesn't really stand out next to Alina is that she tends to keep her eyes down, which results in a much less fierce posture. I know it sounds like a very very minor detail, but you can see the difference. My ballet teacher used to tell us to keep our eyes up all the time.
Very well stated. Imo she honestly blows Alina away with her lines, feet and control. I believe her issue was her height mostly. Certainly NOT her talent nor an askew eye focus. 💯❤️

Somova has never had enough control, staggering, wobbly and unstable. Nothing has changed so far but these days when on the stage she also often seems so bored and uninterested.

Nikole Stockett Somova is extremely overated. I don't understand why Vostrotina doesn't have the same prestige. She is way better.
