Mahito really did deserve everything he got, but man if it wasn't and isn't a slog to watch/read Jujutsu Kaisen without him or Gojo around. They were kind of the backbone for the best and most interesting parts of the series and it just doesn't feel right not having either of them there.
1. Yuji doesn't have a CT 2. Todo couldn't harm mahito at all, it was all yuji (Todo can't attack the soul) 3. Yuji doesn't have a domain expansion 4. Yuji was already badly hurt physically (after choso's fight) and mentally (nanami, kugisaki's deaths) This fight was only fair. He needed that help to even the fighting grounds

Mahito is human's personificwtion of fear of death - this he fears it the most. That's why he wanted to get riddle of Yuji and later Nobara who could potentially kill him. He knew he lost and is gonna die so he was afraid.
He has nothing left no humans to use he was low on cursed energy broken and had his natural enemy slowly walking up to him why would he not be scared he had nothing left
this dude is insane. yuji is only able to win because of the fact his soul cant be touched. mahito is such a powerful guy and this form really seals that, his only weakness is black flashes and thats IF you can keep up with his speed. he takes out most of the cast. except satoru gojo... :troll:
It was an amazing fight, but I didn’t get what happened at the end when Todo reappeared and mahito took yuji’s final punch without moving, it left me confused 😵💫

Even after losing his technique, Todo comes in clutch to help Yuji land the finisher. What a guy
he never lost the technique, only his arm basically, that's why the clap kept working
