Looks really interesting, as I refuse to line with plastic/ rubber or spend a fortune on Bentonite. What type of clay did you use? What clay/sand/lime mix ratios did you use in each coat?
Lime is added as it stops fungus and bacteria growth… which would damage the clay after time.. organic life will be able to grow inside the water and also in the dirt.. but hopefully not break and destroy the layers of clay 💪
So the basic mixture is clay sand and lime 💪 you can also add straw if this is for a building or wall.. The lime wash which I applied was lime a and water… I did this to protect the clay from the elements.. ie the sun here in Portugal.. the lime stops the cracking of the clay but also is added through the mixture to help with water retention and also to prevent the growth of moulds and bacteria’s..
Im looking for thr follow up video to see it finished! Could you point me to it? Thank you!

@@WOLFFARM can't wait to see the next one I'm planning to do the same thing in Portugal
@@escapetothequinta hello thinking to do the same in Portugal. Did it work for you?
What kind of lime did you use? Thank you 😊
Never seen this method. Is there an update?
I just think the coating might not be thick enough.
I thought lime was completely water porous... hope it works out for you.

i though the bottom of ponds ends up like a bio-slime? @@WOLFFARM
Im just wonderi f why you put the lime in.
so you add a mixture of clay, sand and lime for the primer and secondary coat. What was the last one? only lime with some water?

@@WOLFFARM would the lime increase water pH? I am planning to make a pond as rain catcher and use the water for plants
Update?
