No idea what you’re doing wrong given that at the time of recording you weren’t aware of how to tune down to kHz level I’d say send it back Today I activated two Great Britain parks for their first activation with my fx4cr 12 contacts in 25 minutes including two into Canada and one Indonesia 12,200 kilometers away And the other park 41 contacts in just over an hour including USA So there’s definitely something wrong there. I’d love an Icom ic705 but I’d never be without the fx4cr. Out of curiosity where did you buy yours from?
I have had trouble with my new FX4CR, too. I assumed it was the mic causing a problem because I got a report during an activation, after calling for a while and getting no contacts, that all that could be heard was popping. I've also heard that this radio has trouble with RFI and end feds. I'm not sure of that. I have to do some more troubleshooting. I want to like the radio but as of now, I don't trust it and it makes me glad I've got my 705.

it helps if you connect power to the radio and an antenna LOL
oh and don't forget to push the PWR button.
@@BryanDaniel42 funny 😆
Have you tried another mic? I can send you on to test with if you need.
I have not tried another mic.
