Then, it turned its sights towards the stars, colonizing the nearby habitable planets and making highly aggressive contact with the many nearby aliens. Soon, a large underclass of enslaved aliens would make up many of Rome’s thrall worlds and would do the backbreaking hard labour most Romans didn’t want to do. Meanwhile, the humans, or Homines as they called themselves since Latin is the universal language of humanity, would grow decadent and spoiled. The only thing they lived for was war. Cybernetic implants would be embraced by the Roman imperial government and distributed throughout the population and amongst the alien slaves. With these, it would be very easy for a soldier to augment themselves with integrated weaponry, for scientists to have a built in computer implanted in their brain, slaves would be made to attach power drills or harvesting equipment to make their jobs somewhat easier and much more productive. And who could forget using such implants as a means to keep a watchful eye on the populace. Anyone who could harm the Imperator is a threat to us all.
