It was 59° f and rainy here on Christmas day. Very unusually warm temperatures for Chicagoland. I'm glad that somebody, somewhere enjoyed the snow. Chilling

As they say, bad news come in threes. In early November, I had another health scare from a routine "Old Man" CT heart scan that didn't look right. A follow up high contrast CT scan in late December, showed that everything was normal, no issues, no further follow-up tests required. I am relieved and thankful! I'll be back posting very soon. I'm glad you missed my porch.......and me, of course.

Once again, a THOROUGHLY enjoyable and well done tale!! The photos in the snow were near-as-nothing to the area around Casper Mountain, where I lived in a little A-frame cabin for years. Used to snowshoe in and out. Beautiful place, loved it, but I can't be up there anymore because of my health, so I'm in town now, and I can't say as I miss it much, but it was a good time in my life, mostly. But I can't complain about much at all now, and I'm okay with how it goes now. Hope you're doing well too. Happy and healthy 2024!
Happy New Year, Rick. I looked up Caspar Mountain: over 8000 ft from sea level. We’re at 12 ft, and if it weren’t for our sea defences, we’d be under it! It’s odd to think that you were 1.5 miles straight up. We very rarely get snow that lays here on the south coast of England-every ten or fifteen years or so-and when we do it tends to be a ‘wet’ sort that isn’t very pleasant. The rarity of it makes us all jolly excited, and everything stops if we get so much as a flurry. Best wishes for 2024 💫. Thank you for spending your time with me in 2023.

Hello, csj. It must be hard for devout Christians to discover that the origins of all their holidays are pre-Christian. Catholics, in particular, with their older saints as well. I wondered about Epiphany, but that seems to be Egyptian. May I ask, do you celebrate (perhaps commemorate us a better word) any aspect of the modern festivals? My JV friends are very big on Easter, though I think that’s more problematic in its origins than Christmas. Thanks for listening to the stories - I hope 2024 brings you happiness and good health.
