In physics, moment of inertia is a measure of an object's resistance to change in its rotation rate. It is a property of an object that is calculated based on its shape and distribution of mass. An object with a larger moment of inertia will be more difficult to rotate, while an object with a smaller moment of inertia will be easier to rotate. The moment of inertia depends on the object's mass, the distance of its mass from the axis of rotation, and the orientation of the object's mass relative to the axis of rotation.
If the mass is far the axis the more difficult to rotate it means moment inertia increase And if mass is near the more easily to rotate it means moment of inertia decrease
