Jab Joojhan ko Gayo Kasim ji

Every town in #awadh on 7th of #muharram has a tradition of #mehndi, in the memory of #hazratqasim , nephew of Imam Hussain, son of Imam Hasan. As they say 'Qasim ke mehndi uthayi jati hai.' A young man who was about to get married was killed in #karbala. A composition in #raagdesh depicting the martyrdom of Qasim in the battle field.
