Same thing i was born and raised in Monmouth and I still live in Monmouth but I went mostly to learn about the legend of molly pitcher but I also went to see where the black watch fought and the reason is is because I play the tenor drums in a pipe and drum band that is named after the famous famous brave mighty heroic fantastic and fierce black watch which is a British Canadian and Scottish infantry regiment but I also go to Monmouth battlefield when they have this history fair and at the fair I learned many things like that Me and George Washington are the same height

I go through this area all the time, I live there too. Strange knowing armies marched past places I'm just driving through.

Ever find any artifacts like bullets? Are you allowed to bring a metal detector? I'd love to visit the battlefield. Would you suggest it? My brother lives in New Jersey in Morristown near the sight of "Fort Nonsense".

My 4x Great Grandfather Matthew COE was with the 2d NY Regiment of Militia in this battle. It later became the 3d US Infantry Ret. "Old Guard" our country's oldest unit now guarding Arlington Cemetery.

    Molly Pitcher….
Cause that’s what we Jersey girls do.
Grew up in Monmouth County…. Live closer to Mount Vernon for decades….
Yet they don’t talk much about the Battle of Monmouth…. Even though some (not all) military historians believe the Battle of Monmouth was a turning point for Washington’s leadership.

I enjoyed this. However, is there any way to regulate the adds? This seemed like commercial tube. The worst part was the random nature of the advertisements. Quite often they interrupted commentary mid sentence which is annoying. The content of the adds was also cause for aggravation. Everything from politics, cooking products, and erectile disfunction was presented; quite often in the middle of dialog as already mentioned. Is there some way content creators can have these advertisements presented before the program or perhaps in the middle in the form of an intermission? I am asking because this seems to be getting worse across all platforms on RUclips.
The event was well presented (though the acting left a bit to be desired) but the near constant stream of advertisements detracted from the presentation.

      That's regular RUclips.
      RUclips premium has no ads.
MARXIST youtube does that to channel's they cant outright censor

Did Lee really retreat at Monmouth or was he just incompetent? Our American history is quite fascinating!

Wouldn’t we love to know what GW said to Lee!!
In other news, is one of the British reenactors’ voices that of Jonathan Pryce?

Lee family is related to George Washingtons family thru marriage, not sure if anyone was aware.

    • @fett333
      @fett333 3 месяца назад

The General Lee at Monmouth is no relation to the Lees of Virginia- Robert E Lee married the adopted granddaughter of Washington (Martha Washington had two kids from her first marriage- she and GW never had thier own child - likely because GW had small pox when he was younger)

It was NOT called the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Until 1871 right after the ACT OF 1871. Before that it was, and still is the UNION STATES OF AMERICA! ….. In 1871 Congress took lands from the states of Maryland State, and Virginia State to create NOT ANOTHER STATE in the Union, but to create a FOREIGN TERRITORY! …. They called this FOREIGN TERRITORY the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. And to be the governing body of this FOREIGN TERRITORY, They created a corporation (run by themselves) called the UNITED STSTES OF AMERICA CORPORATION COMPANY INCORPORATED. And USEPED the legitimate government of the UNION STSTES OF AMERICA, and made it dormant. … and the FOREIGN DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA still governs the country as the UNITED STATES. So if you claim to be a U.S. citizen then you are a FOREIGN TRAITOR to the Union States of America, and are no longer an American Citizen.

    • @KevinGSmith-mi8js
