I'm buying one just to modify the hell out of it and make my own "signature model" with all the specs I like. It's a killer beginner guitar but it's also a god-tier modification platform.
Better off saving money and getting a monoprice guitar for that. My AZ ES came today so back bowed I couldn't straighten it or give relief, paint chip and tooling marks between every fret. It's being returned
These 3 guys could sell me a $500 brick. I'd be like, "just listen to that brick". But in all seriousness, that headstock graphic is my favorite part. Put that on more guitars!
I have had one for some months now. It is the cheapest of my guitars but it is the one I can’t stop playing. Beautiful guitar. Very playable and fantastic sound combinations. It is a very good beginner guitar but it is definitely much more than a beginner guitar. It compares favoribly to guitars that are twice its price.
Holy $hiz am I impressed with this company! They found one of the niche's it seems so many other makers missed. Yet it was so obvious. If that video is any indication they nailed it. That guitar is what every beginner needs. A high quality instrument, no frills, ergonomic and comfortable with killer sound and plenty of versatility. Honestly better than most near high end models from other makers. I have always wanted to build a guitar and Ibanez was the brand that inspired me. She's almost done, Just playing with dyes. I have three RG's and love every one.
Just got the one in your hands a couple days ago , the AZ31 vermillion. I absolutely love it , my third Ibanez and they always knock it out of the park. Always quality at every price range...
Finally! I’ve been wanting to know more ever since Guitar Center leaked images of these guitars a couple months ago. Very interesting that you went with a 25” scale neck for this budget series. Can’t wait to try one at my local dealer! 👍🏽👍🏽
A rock solid, well assembled, high quality, features laden electric guitar priced around 300 bones? I'm sold! Solid work Ibanez! I can't wait to try one! I bet these will be killer modification platforms once they come out.
First and foremost you should know about the Ibanez AZES, that this is Vaporware. After the announcements on 31st August/1 September I ordered it immediately, but after several delays I was informed today by Thomann again, that it will still not be delivered before February 2022. Needless to say, I canceled my order. What a pity. Maybe in a year or two these will be really available.
An easy solution is a couple of rubber grommets size 8 or 9 or one of each under all knobs slows them down, keeps them where you want and still able to adjust them. Home Depot or Lowes. I put them on 96% of my electrics.
@@tomc9302 from the spec I read on Ibanez's web it has the same thickness with the regular AZ, so same neck profile I believe. I have a member of Ibanez AZ group on Facebook shared me a side by side photo with the regular AZ2204 prestige. The AZES is shorter in length due to the 25" scale, what I can't confirm is whether the AZES body is smaller than the regular one, at a glance it does look quite smaller, but I don't know, could be my eyes deceiving me due to a shorter scale neck...
I removed the complete harness, pickups, dime size pots & switch on my 31 for Alnico 5 pups and USA parts ( one volume, two tones, one tone for bridge only) and Gotoh Staggered Locking tuners. Happy camper.😊
i shouldnt have bought my squier strat affinity 6 months ago... if only i knew this was gonna be availabe, i mean i did upgrade the pickups, the hardare and tuners, the nut, and polished the frets, only thing im looking to upgrade now is to add a two point tremolo system, but the hss configuration is something i was looking to do so having it already installed wouldve been great
I was hoping Ibanez would come out with an az model in the same price point as the Fender player strat. I'm worried about fit and finish and hardware quality at this price.
I got the AZ2204 and swapped out those divisive Hyperion pick ups ASAP. They sound great here and perhaps through a highly saturated and/or busy digital signal chain, but through a tube amps natural distortion, you are going to need more oomph,,trust me. Those Seymour Duncans remind me of those boring Habanero Medium output pickups that were stock in the GJ2 guitars some time ago
@@おいしいパスター the guitar is being returned, but before that I'm posting a vlog on it to get the word out. Shame on Ibanez for using influencers to hype it! What a letdown! Back bowed neck, way out of wack. I don't understand how a proper fret job was even done on it if the neck can't be zeroed and flatten by the truss rod. Tool markings between frets and chip. I can only assume why no Allen wrench was included! This needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau.
Hi Tomo, why not narrow from E to E the opening on the capstan of the tuners. Cost nothing, more stable tuning. Why vintage stagger on the pickups? Thats for a wound G? Great guitars BTW.
I’ve always thought the split post tuners were really solid , it’s nice to see them being used on this,,if only guitars of this quality were around when when I started ,

Will Ibanez ever offer the AZE 40 in more colors? They have beautiful finishes in their product line but the entry level, presumably to keep costs down, is a really kind of a bland look. I keep hoping they will because the price for a custom paint job defeats the purpose of affordable. If Harley Benton or Guitar Fetish can step up the color choices whats holding Ibanez back? I'd pay more within reason for a little more flash.
I have to admit these guitars seem very good.. But I have always wanted a Mexican Strat and to be honest I am tired of settling or hunting for a guitar to stick with.. How does this guitar compare to say a 99’s or early Mexican Strat?
