- I am in a very small and unique village of Yunnan Province called "Cizhong". It is one of the very few places where Tibetans are actually Christians and not Buddhists. This has an old an special history that dates back to Qing Dynasty when the French sent Christian missionaries to Yunnan to convert the Tibetans to Christianity. Back then, they weren't successful at all, but then the small pox pandemic came and only the Christians got access to the vaccines provided by the French missionaries. Eventually, this turned quite some Buddhists into Christians that remain there until today.

Would not believe there is a Catholic church in Tibet if Yan did not show it, thank you Yan
It's not Tibet. It's a Tibetan region in Yunnan province. Tibetans live across many provinces of China, including Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan, and Yunnan.
@@user-ds9og8hl7z还有甘肃
@@user-ds9og8hl7zTibet on a map today is 1/3 the size that it was. When China seized Tibet, they put 2/3’s of it in other provinces. That’s why there are Tibetans in other provinces, such as Yunnan,
@@ellencampbell9144false comparison when you have no knowledge of the long history of China. In Tang Dynasty, Tibetans gained power and invaded part of Tang empire, and later Mongols conquered the Tibet again. Tibet was in China’s map since then, so stop your false western narrative. When the British wanted to trade in Tibet areas they had to ask the Qing Empire’s permission because the Tibet area was under Qing’s ruling. PRC simply inherited everything from Qing.
Also... There are Tibetan moslems as well (mostly by married)
Ive worked in Yinchuan Ningxia China in HANAS LNG Plants as Mechanical Engineer, theyve got Muslim religion and Catholic Christian religion. I remember one time itwas Christmas eve and we went to hear mass and a big church was packed with chinese christians. Im happy to see them and feel them as we christians all over the world. God bless us all including our dearly beloved chinese people.
Must express my thanks and appreciation to you for bringing us all an unfiltered view and close up view of rural China. Non-political, non-biased and non-moralistic. Can actually see that the Chinese government is actually performing their duties for the improvement of their citizen's life even in the remotest parts. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
Thank you 🥰
Alternative perspectives matters
kmhoh, your filtered, biased comment is amusing.
As a Catholic, I loved seeing that beautiful Church and their lovely local practice of our religion. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you 🥰
The Vatican though recognizes Taiwan/ROC as the legitimate representative of China since the 1950s.
But things as slowly changing as Argentine-born Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergolio, enshrined as Pope Francis, made positive gestures to the Chinese mainland which led them to formally start cross-recognition of ordained clergy folks since 2018 after such negotiations started in 2014.
Only a matter of when before they switch from Taipei to Beijing if they agree with the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 (one-China principle).
Other than mainland China, Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia are the other nations with no formal ties with the Vatican.
There is only one country in Europe that don't recognize the People's Republic of China but the Republic of China. That country is the Vatican.
Yes amen! I'm a Christian (Catholic) too...!
Thank GOD, so delightful to see Catholics Church in Tibet, China ✝️🙏🛐
A first person POV of a rural Tibetan Catholic Sunday service, as if I was right there, sitting in a pew. Such a unique experience! Thank you, Yan!
Thank you so much 🥰

There is a great deal of freedom, diversity, and happiness in China. We Americans should take notice.
DUDE! There is no religious freedom. Children are not allowed to enter.
@@peterwu8471 Funny, "David", parental influence and not given a choice to young children is not "freedom". They can be Christian if they want to when they are 18.
In China. It's more like this way:
Verbally invite your friends to attend church activities.⭕
Go straight to the neighbor's door and give them a church manual.❌
@@Antinonsens sounds good
Though, generally speaking, only countries that have an actual freedom are very very tiny
Yan, always so interesting, you are one of my favorites on youtube

✨I have eaten exactly two big, beautiful amber-color rose honey grapes at that Church, in 2007!!! now I'm crying 💙💙💙
Thank you for this wonderful video. A Christian fan from India here, from Northeast India. Look it up. We typically don't look like indians. We believed we migrated from Yunnan province China.
Are you (North east Indians) not Mongoloid? like Burmese, Nepalese, Bhutanese, Tibetans, Laotians, Cambodians, Thais, Vietnamese, Malaysians, Indonesians, Maoris, Filipinos, Chinese (Khatso), Taiwanese, Japanese, Koreans etc.
@@SAF.3861 I'm pretty sure they are, yeah. And the North and South Indians are West Eurasian, like Europeans and Middle Easterners.

Your confidence has grown on the bike!! I remember your first video putting it together. I was so worried, because a nervous driver is not a safe driver.
But all seems well and we get to keep exploring with you. ❤ Thanks for all the great views and showing us your journey on the road too!
Right?! My partner and I were nervous about her riding the moped at first but now she's practically an expert. The only thing I worry about now is if she's having the moped's oil changed often enough!

Thank you for taking me to places I would have never known about China. I have seen so many places in China that I would have never been able to visit in my lifetime,
As I was watching this video of Cizhong - the beautiful scenery and its history - I can't help noticing all the works and research that you'd put into it. I am writing just to let you know you that your hard work is not lost but appeciated by many like minded viewers.

I heard there is a village in Yunnan which has people from all five of China's main religions living in harmony. Thanks for showing us this!
I met one such Tibetans and he bowed deeply at the feet of the Dalai Lama . So I guess the beauty of Tibetan faith is unlike in other countries . Even Tibetan Muslim deeply revere the Buddhist master the Dalai Lama . I think it is the greatness of him that every faith of Tibetan people love and respect him .
The little girl & little boy are so beautiful & very curious to learn😊 so cute
Wow this is so interesting and awesome to see. I’ve always known that China has a (very) small Christian minority but I’ve never went past reading about it… so interesting to see them in real life. Great video! 🙏🏻✝️
Thank you 🥰
On the contrary, China has the fastest growing Christian population at 100 million. Most likely China will have the largest amounts of Christians in a single nation by 2030.
Very Proud Of You! You Are Taking All Of Us to Wonderful Places. Thank You So Much!

This topic has truly captivated me. It's opened my eyes to the profound challenges and incredible rewards faced by Catholic missionaries, and the Catholics living in those remote areas are also worthy of our admiration. Their unwavering dedication is a constant source of inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thank you for these incredible views of China.
What a wonderful, magical world!
Wow, i am 36 & never knew there are some Chinese that are Catholics. Thank you for educating me on this 🙏🏾 very interesting. Godbless you on all your travels
刚才查询了一下资料,在中国,天主教信徒约600万人,基督教信徒3800多万人,几乎绝大部分中国人都知道中国存在基督教,就跟佛教、道教一样广为人知。
There're actually quite a lot in mountainous South West China where it used to be so poor back in 19th and early 20th century--it's an advantage for western missionaries, just as mentioned in the video, missionaries brought modern ideas and medicines to these remote areas.
@arbs3ry they brought GOD, the only one who can heal you, walk beside you, forgive your sins and gave you eternal life. No one else BUT GOD
There are 30 million Christians in China, almost as many as Muslims, and there are Christian churches in every city in China. But I was very surprised to find Tibetans believing in Catholicism in Tibetan areas where Tibetan Buddhism is prevalent. It is undeniable that many Western missionaries came to the mysterious East to preach, especially in these remote areas, and brought many advanced ideas and technologies from the world at that time. Whether in war or epidemic, these Western missionaries saved many Chinese lives.
Us killed many Chinese in Korea war. US backed Indonesia government killed hundred thousands Chineses in 1960s.
That said, but weren't they the pioneers of the British and French imperialists at the time all over the globe?
They have so Christain values that let all the other kids of the village to die, to prove they have the true god. They do the same in the Amazon. Often they carry themselves the diaeases. Nothing commendable
Historically, Christianity was used as a weapon to cause instability and separations between people and their governments, so they can be conquered and brainwashed easier.
@@cheungchingtongYes they were. I'm not sure what technology they would have brought either. Prior to when coIoniaIism really took off, Europe was waaaay behind the likes of China, India, lran etc.
However, I suppose there were good missionaries who would help with medicine etc. They should be appreciated.
It is unfortunate that many would often forrce people to conveert before helping though. I know this happened a lot during India's coIonization.
Fascinating, in mid thirties, Finnish mission worked in remote village of lachung, North Sikkim. They introduced apples and weaving looms but failed to convert people.
Wow i didn’t know that as a finn, thanks!
Thank you Yan for taking us on your travels to these unique places which I don't think I can visit in my lifetime....❤
Thank you 🥰
Thank you sister, for showing us wonderful videos, please try to bring videos of Chinese christian and their traditions, from north east India Bodoland.
Thanks for sharing your interesting trip to the French missionary Catholic church, where the rose grape vines produce wine. Have you not tasted a small cup wine, another youtuber Aaron got this chance. The Buddhist monasteries are on top of the mountain. God bless your excellent works with health and happiness.😃

In the past, tibetans are treated as slave under the dalai lama era. Now they are free to choose their own religion. Thanks to CCP for giving them freedom. Tibetans are very happy in China now.
Based on what I read there are 100M Christians in China.
Üdvözöllek Budapestről 😊Megint gyönyörű helyre hoztál ❤ Aranyos kis nő vagy😊
The west say, free Tibet.
The Tibetans move to the next province and build beautiful temples, and live in harmony with Christian Tibetans. Wonderful.
Only because the state diminish the importance of religion in the public sphere. See all the religoius wars enacted through time.
No, the Chinese put 2/3’s of Tibet, after they took Tibet, into other provinces. The Tibetans did not move.
@@ellencampbell9144 When UK seized N.A, (now U$ and Canada) they took 100% of N.America which is then divided into U$A and Canada (sharing some parts of Canada with the French).
Not only that, they then proceeded to systematically exterminate/ge no sided the natives using viral impregnated blanket infected with smallpox, to save on bullets. They also systematically slaughtered millions of bisons to starve the native indigenous tribes.
When UK seized Aust, they employ similar systematic ge no side of Abos, this time they kidnapped by law all young Abos and inter breed with young female Abos to "breed them out", truly despicable acts of evil uniquely european, rivalling even those of the notsees of Germany.
That is fact!
@@susanaaragorn8606which is a perfect example of religion doesn’t kill, the people behind it does.
@@ellencampbell9144 Lies. The Chinese government sent many Han Chinese to Tibet to help the development of Tibet, and did not force Tibetans to leave Tibet. Many Han people fell ill and died because they did not adapt to the plateau environment. Some Tibetans come to lower-altitude provinces such as Yunnan, Sichuan and Gansu in search of a better living environment.
That is a very fascinating story. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 🥰
Thank you for the valuable documentary.
And Asia’s highest Catholic church I heard is located in Lhasa (Xizang/Tibet).
