I don't know what you're worried about. Taking 40 damage at the start of turn from a Henry against my 80 res veyle is perfectly fine and balanced...
*"And when everyone is broken... no one will be"*
Or something idk
Movement powercreep and nuke powercreep are the bane of my existence
I think it’s best that Vantage strats are inconsistent because if they were consistent then the Hardy Bearing seal would basically become mandatory and you would auto-lose vs Vantage if you don’t have it.
With that said folks that invested in B! Marth must be pretty happy, it seems every two months IS releases something he can use to become more consistent and we are only one Freyr like unit for AR-O for his vantage to be basically permanent in that mode. Dude is like Thanos collecting infinity stones.
Remember when Fire Emblem was an strategy game?
So what your saying is release vantage 4
As for emblem with vantage thats just Leif and im interested in what they do with him
and when close counter seal will be released we'll see V!Lyon with vantage 3(or 4) and close counter (yes I'm running vantage on him and when he has higher res it's just dumb)
Its all fun and games till they release a unit that has drive hardy bearing
There needs to be a reasonably accessible way of applying a visible buff that at least halves the pre-combat damage.
Tanks already tend to have built in healing or it can be accounted for with support.
Tanks can’t deal with unblockable true damage before combat even begins though.
It also needs to be a visible buff because a drive will just get neutralized by fueds and we’re back where we are where nukes get everything they need for reckless abandon while neutralizing damn near everything a tank needs to function while tanks may be lucky if they even get DR piercing in their kit to deal with offensive units getting 70/90% DR on player phase.
It’s simple, put a cap to pre-combat damage to 14. Also I have a feeling we might get Vantage 4 💀.
Really wished they limited pre-combat damage to non-doubling attacks. I like the way that they handled the "Potent Follow-up" effect where it's MOSTLY inefficient on the 3rd/5th hits whereas middling spd units can basically get a slightly weaker follow-up. Pre-Combat damage is great on slow units that get gimped when their GFU is cancelled by NFU.
But seeing as we're already passed that point, the best thing they CAN do to balance it is make it so that Pre-combat damage hard caps at 25% of the foe's *CURRENT HP*. This prevents units from dealing insane numbers and gets less effective over numerous engagements, while allowing tanks to still be able to invest into defensive stats for the actual combat.
Here's the solution to enemy phase:
Vantage 4: Inflicts -4 Def/Res on foe during combat. If foe initiates combat and unit's HP < 100% at start of combat or after start of combat damage, unit can attack before foe's first attack, and deals damage = 10% of unit's Atk.
7:37 everywhere i go, I see his face.
I already have a feeling that one of ZeShado's accounts attacked me few days ago with this +10 Brave Marth build and wipe my entire team. Even my Hardy Bearing Duo Sanaki and Duo Lyon didn't stand a chance - the best thing they is dropping him to very low HP. Vantage is good nowadays, you just need to have Null Counter Disrupt, very high damage for a single hit and of course, you need to hit first(Vantage).
I feel like people saying that tanking was ever "too good" are kind of insane? Like when exactly are we talking about tanking actually being that good? Hardy Fighter releasing? That was already super counterable and nukes were still totally cracked in 2021 and Hardy Fighter tanks literally just made living hits a possibility for a lot of units. Nukes have been better than tanks for the entire game and every nuke buff has not been tipping the scales, but the rich getting richer. Saves and Hardy Fighter were never broken, just very consistent in a way tanking never got to be before. So what i'm saying is give us Hardy Fighter 4 with consecutive hit protection like Negating Fang II and a Great Shield special that's Pavise + Aegis with pre combat damage immunity built in obv...
I'm glad you're using B!Lysithea as a vantage unit. I have been since the forma, and she's been great. Although, I am using Speed Preempt as I find the speed stacking is easier without needing a really weak unit for the sacrifice strats
coming back to feh after a year long break, good to know the players are just as clueless as i am when it comes to surviving attacks
i maxed my Kronya
Thanks Zeshado
Enemy what, now?
I really only think this is that big a deal in AR-D particularly because things like cav lines that reach the enemy turn 1 are actually possible.
It’s not really about the strength of the tank as much as it is how it’s basically impossible to space your units in a way that they aren’t facing multiple threats. Save units are horrible at staying out of range.
If AR-D maps couldn’t have ranged lines, enemy phase would be fine, you could just pull the units you can deal with
We are just gonna get a skill or effect that reduces start of combat true damage and the cycle will continue from there with a pen version to that skill later
Says a lot that defensive armors just got the best godsend of a B slot they could have possibly hoped for, but the damage is already done to the point where you'd rather just not use the armors in the first place.
Lyon moment
Color triangle should be buffed
To tank you need to be able to spam special dr skills like the new Altina. I feel like its just gonna be a cycle.
My strategy has been hit and run which is also finicky. Duo Sanaki hardy bearing has done wonders.
Pre-combat damage, triple attacks (Potent Follow X%)
What's next?
Winter Dimitri stocks on the rise.
Mark my words, in a couple of months they'll sell us pre-combat damage reduction as a solution.
Maybe it'll be part the Tier 4 version of the Save skills that I'm 100% sure will come this year (source: trust me bro).
First we should start by removing the enemy phase music in its entirety.
Brave marth, Baby marth, and Winter marth all being very good right now is very funny tho
Really wish for a Vantage and a WoM Seal...
If we thought Summoner duels (s) was somewhat-barely playable before last time it came around, this time was an absolute nightmare, no use in playing that mode anymore.
I just want emblem Ike,emblem Lyn and emblem Byleth damn it.
Null hardy bearing? How about a debuff that negates your sacred seal as a whole? 😂
i miss my nowi used to be able vanatage in AR.... now nowi even ~10 with updated skill, it cant even tank anymore, vanatage doesnt exist for her anymore also, and any old far save armor these days just die in one hit regardless u are +10 or not
Enemy phase has been dead just shortly after the release of wind Claude. About the time of red hinoka.
I die inside every time enemy units just uselessly use assists instead of running into W!Dimitri
Player phase is a disease, I'm sick of units designed to be used by the AI
The flared pre combat damage is something that could have been somewhat less broken if en garde did what it's suppose to.
Like seriously, why doesn't en garde stop it?
Because that's not how En Garde works. En Garde simply stopped outside of combat damage from Bolt Towers and Savage Blow/Poison Strike, but not damage from AOE specials. The Flared skills, as well as Camilla and Lyon's damage are classified as "As combat begins". Therefore, En Garde wouldn't stop it anyways.
Y'all asked for an FE game without an enemy phase focus, now you got it.
We have had many of those already though.
Maybe because it turns out, you need an enemy phase for player phase to even exist.
Wow this RUclips video of yours is exactly ten minutes long.
Pls help Roy
Tanks should be better but I bet a lot of people just want to plonk their tank and win without even reading the nuke skills or really doing any thinking.
Enemy phase is really a joke atm.
Experienced this today got annoyed at aether raids so brought winter Marth and hooray vantage sweep!!
I hate this game
This is why I'm not against L!Alear winning AHR even if I'll be choosing W!Dimitri! Null-C for everyone is the new way! 😂
The problem with enemy phase is that people want those units to one shot nukes while barely getting scratched themselves. That is just a nuke that can kill multiple enemies in one turn while having insane survivability which is honestly worse game design IMO. The best way to make tanks balance wise is to make them hard to kill but they also don’t just destroy the entire enemy team. Maybe they can build up to an attack that can destroy a unit (like maybe having a 7 turn special idk) but not something that is spam-able. Make them bait out the opposing units and let other nukes finish them off. A big problem with this route is that units which are already in an unfortunate position damage wise can get screwed even harder.
100% this. I think every combat ending with one unit dead is the biggest problem in FEH atm. Tanks should be good at DEFENDING and only be able to one shot the frailest of glass canons. Meanwhile, only those super frail glass canons should be able to one shot mid-tier tanks. The bulkiest tanks should be able to survive them with at least 25% HP (unless the nuke has effective damage and WT advantage maybe). Chip damage is so essential to the main line games (at least on higher difficulties), it should play a big role in FEH too and not be made nigh impossible.
DTM's solution.....just use galeforce strats losers, lol.
