I am sorry but I don't agree with you. The beauty of the raaga is in the aalap, here Ramanan beautifully demonstrated all the essence of raaga in his aalap.
I have never heard something quite close to this, ever. Thanks to the good audio it's exactly how he wants his Veena to sound.
