      Hypothermia occurs when a person's body temperature drops below 95°F (35°C). Fahrenheit and Celsius are math computations. For example, 98.6 degrees F is the same as 37 degrees C.

    The ocean gives life and takes it away. One of the most scariest things that can happen in the water is when there is no light around. Unless you have some amount of moonlight at night. It's completely dark and there's only stars in the sky. However, due to the distance from Earth, you have no other means to see what's around you. You are at Neptune's mercy at that point and just hope he's in a good mood. To add on to that fear, there's always a chance that a creature might come by and bump next to you. Then you will really question "What things goes bump in the night".

    Just a little extra info about California coastal contact with great white sharks: since 1950, according to the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, there have been 220 reported incidents of contact with great whites. Of these, 116 resulted in non-fatal injury, while 16 were fatal. So, on average, (per decade since 1950) there have been 17.8 non-fatal injury encounters per decade and 2,5 fatal encounters per decade with great white sharks off of the coast of California.
    Relatively speaking, these are low figures, but they're enough to be another reason for me to keep my ass out of the ocean. lol.

    Small request. Can u list, or also include, metric measures when using fahrenheit, especially, or feet, etc? Many of your viewers, like me, won't know the imperial system and it interferes with the flow/entertainment value of the video.

    • @257796
      @257796 2 дня назад

      The metric and imperial systems can be reconciled with 25.4 inches to millimeters. If you get real good at dividing by 25 you have millimeters to inches. Kilometers to miles is 2.2 so double it and you're roughly there. We use both here in America everything else is a myth. Kilometers is the only one we really don't have. But if he says miles per hour just cut it in half. Hope this helps

    • @LaPetiteBoulin
      @LaPetiteBoulin 2 дня назад +7

      I knew a survivor of that tragedy (he passed several years ago) and he would have told you that. Usually, sharks don't attack humans. Look at how many people swim in the ocean vs. the number of shark attacks that happen yearly. Sharks usually don't attack humans, but that doesn't it never happens.
      The USS Indianapolis was a horrible tragedy. About 900 survivors went into the water and the highest estimate of shark attack deaths is 200. Experts don't believe that many died from shark attacks today, though. Regardless, seeing their brothers scavenged on by sharks was still a traumatizing event. The US military should be thanking sharks for bearing the spotlight of this tragedy because it has kept many people from learning about the real failures that happened. The truth is that most of those men died from exposure, dehydration, drowning, and injuries from the sinking. In other words- lack of rescue!

      I don't think many people realize that we’re not so special compared to other animals; we are animals ourselves. We aren’t always at the top of the food chain-especially in the ocean. When someone mentions that shark attacks are rare, it’s common for someone else to respond with, “But what about this one time…” Do people not understand that “uncommon” and “rare” do not mean “never”?

    • @SpaQueenRocks
