My son had cystic lesions on his right lung as a newborn baby, and my wife and I had to endure waiting through an 8 hour long surgery on his little lungs when he was only six months old. We had this song (specifically, this RUclips version) on repeat the entire time. Now, every time I watch and listen to this version I can’t do it without tearing up. My son’s surgery was successful and he’s happy and healthy now, almost a year later … but we couldn’t have made it through that trial without this band and their songs blessing us. Thank you, CityAlight. Never stop putting truth to music.
Please pray my husband would heal from his vaccine injury (c0v1d, confirmed last summer at our Army hospital). Please pray this in Jesus' name and that a mighty witness/testimony would move from that.
So great to see them getting attention like this - because they give Christ all the Glory. They are writing THE best worship songs in the world right now, but the church at large doesn't even know about them!
What I like about this band is also that they created a song for the congregation to sing. It is not about complicated solos, the charisma of the performing band or the band's overwhelming skill in singing. It is always about whole congregation singing together as one about Jesus. Our King that died and risen for us so we can be united with our Father and God. Beautiful song indeed.
Gregory Molina I share the exact view. You can literally hear God's promises and consolation in their songs. It's a Divine art that many songwriters have not yet mastered. The lyrics are soo powerful it is evident that it could only be written out of divine inspiration from the throne of God.
I pray that a thousand more people hear this song. May local radio stations play it. Such a blessing and so encouraging. I’ve sent it to at least five people.
What gift of grace is Jesus, my Redeemer There is no more for Heaven now to give He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to His Oh, how strange and divine, I can sing, "All is mine" Yet not I, but through Christ in me The night is dark, but I am not forsaken For by my side, the Savior, He will stay I labor on in weakness and rejoicing For in my need, His power is displayed To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me Through the deepest valley, He will lead Oh, the night has been won, and I shall overcome Yet not I, but through Christ in me No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven The future's sure, the price, it has been paid For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And He was raised to overthrow the grave To this I hold, my sin has been defeated Jesus, now and ever is my plea Oh, the chains are released, I can sing, "I am free" Yet not I, but through Christ in me With every breath, I long to follow Jesus For He has said that He will bring me home And day by day, I know He will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat "Yet not I, but through Christ in me" To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat "Yet not I, but through Christ in me" When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat "Yet not I, but through Christ in me" Yet not I, but through Christ in me Yet not I, but through Christ in me
Best version I found. Just a nice voice with a couple instruments. No heavy drums somewhere to push the emotions because no need for that. Wonderful just listen and be thankful

Me and my church are richly blessed by this simple, beautiful and very profound song. A song of empowerment, humility and grace. All through Christ, not by any work of ours.
What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer There is no more for heaven now to give He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to His Oh how strange and divine, I can sing, "All is mine" Yet not I, but through Christ in me The night is dark but I am not forsaken For by my side, the Saviour He will stay I labour on in weakness and rejoicing For in my need, His power is displayed To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me Through the deepest valley He will lead Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome Yet not I, but through Christ in me No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven The future sure, the price it has been paid For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And He was raised to overthrow the grave To this I hold, my sin has been defeated Jesus now and ever is my plea Oh the chains are released, I can sing, "I am free" Yet not I, but through Christ in me With every breath I long to follow Jesus For He has said that He will bring me home And day by day I know He will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me Yet not I, but through Christ in me Yet not I, but through Christ in me
This song was our anthem when a friend and I ran a half marathon last fall! We both have been going through some spiritual and physical struggles...the words to this song motivated and encouraged us that it’s only Christ in us that will get us through!! So appreciate and love this song...thank you
We use several of their songs in our parish, St David’s Anglican Community. As someone else commented, their songs are theologically sound and the melodies are very singable by a congregation. It’s not about a band and a lead singer (and look - no drums!!) and over-engineered music. Great post-communion hymn.
Is there a difference? You just need to ensure the key is correct for the singer. This is in D. It is often in C for a girl singing, and that is too low for me. I take it up to E flat when I sing, and even F is good.
Who wrote this? The singers in this video? It is such a soothing tune. I heard this at my son's church and added it to my playlist. I wish I could just put this one song on repeat.
Does anyone know the names of the actual band members of City Alight? In the interview my understanding of how they operate is that the songwriters are not always necessarily the ones leading them at St. Pauls in Australia.
Another song that has been heard a thousand times before. Nothing against the two guys, meant nicely, but unfortunately very boring. The same groove, the same chords, the same lyrics, over and over again ... Isn't there really something new and fresh in the worship scene?

@@Fenrirblu3 that's exactly what I like too - we have no trouble singing their songs congregationally or even with my children in family devotions

Love the way how Michael Farren plays the piano
What beauty. What purity. What truth. Amen, thank you.
So blessed by your songs! This is one of several that our praise team has adopted as our favorites.
Excellent song. A true worshipful rendition without the showy emotionalism of so many others. Thanks!

One of my favorite songs. So full of Hope!
So beautiful! Thank you! Yet not I but Christ through me.
Great job, Ben. One of my favorites. We will sing this song tomorrow at church.

Yet not I but through Christ in me...
That's a beautiful hymn right there! May God continue to use it!👍

Amazing song!! We sing it church all the time!!
its really cool to see him sing it when all the recordings are the girl singing
definitely helped me figure how i can do it in my church.
Now you have a taste of how female worship leaders feel all the time 🙂
Either way it's all about worshipping and praising god 💙
Is there a difference? You just need to ensure the key is correct for the singer. This is in D. It is often in C for a girl singing, and that is too low for me. I take it up to E flat when I sing, and even F is good.
Can't stop listening... Beautiful song.. May God bless you.. More update
I found out about them a little over a year ago and all their songs are amazing. The lyrics are so deep but simple. Shout out from Arkansas.

Did anyone manage to play his version of the acoustic guitar?
What guitar are you using? I looks and sounds really good.
Title should read “yet not I but through Christ in me”
Please what guitar is he playing?
It sounds really great.
It's a Gopherwood. Not sure what series. I'm guessing 900. They're a Korean company who loves supporting the church.
Let's get sum new songs 🎵 people
What is the name of the guitar he is playing?

Beautiful. But please, stop with the chipmunk autotune. Very distracting, and disappointing considering his beautiful voice.
