New patch and maps looking awesome!! All today's games were fantastic but definitely dont miss game 3 :P Thanks for watching and have a great day everyone
can you energy overcharge teammate’s units, including non-protoss units? or if you neural’d another race and produced their units could you energy overcharge those units lol
One really good trick in scenarios where your ally ditched you, like in the last game here, is use his drones to mass expand, and use his supply to finance you. So can even get rid of your workers in order to make up for the supply diference in the 2v1.
@@au1317 You underestimate a pro player at this point in time - Even I managed to clutch a game in diamond for damn near 25 minutes vs 2 players cause my toss left early after a push that i crushed with my mutas lmao

That episode was one of the best for me too. Marc's crisis management is immaculate, it really shows how creative strategic thinking can get you out of anything. The best about Marc's playstyle for me is that he can figure out different unexpected strategies along the game, and the enemies aren't sure how to answer to them. Fell in love with your channel
my dude just owned the 1v2 lmao, no matter the game people have such weak defeatist mental that's it's brutal to see or play with, kudos for being one of those who just never surrender
I couldn't stand teammates with the mentality that they drop as soon as things get difficult because they have that fear before the game even starts. Thermy switched from cheesy salt-miner to tournament mode real fast. That was epic.
@@greg3072 I'm impressed that game is still around. I wonder how many players it has now. 500? 1000? When I played like... 10 years ago, there weren't very many players so I can't imagine what kind of life support it's on now.
feels like a lot of people talking about the new patch have been really hating on where Protoss is and Protoss not getting the buff they wanted. Really happy to see uThermal loving the new patch and enjoying where Protoss went with the new patch! loved the vid!
Everyone I've seen theorycrafting the patch notes was dumping on energy recharge, but uThermal really showed the strengths of it in these games! It seems like a pretty powerful force multiplier for early units with energy just like he was doing with sentry first. The early high templars were insane against zerg!
Protoss being able to have such an incredibly aggressive play style is something I love! Protoss has generally been a defensive race with very massive attacks, but with the new mothership and the energy recharge ability, it can be almost as aggressive as Zerg with slightly less firepower than Terran doing a medevac drop. It opens a lot of doors and makes the games less predictable
I remember a lot of commenters being very critical of the energy recharge as a major defensive nerf, but seeing this I think they may have seriously underestimated the amount of scouting/offensive pressure it gives.
I think your ability to laugh and joke when in these tense situations is one of your extremely strong points. Where some people would be sweating and freaking out, you are like, this is going to be so silly check this out guys.
Hey thermal, i've been thinking, when your teammate leave, you can use all of his supply for economy, and get rid of all your workers. So your "main race" is only army.
Wow a 7 seconds ago thermal vid, that's gotta count for something ED: OOF THOSE STORMS IN THE FIRST GAME I'm kinda yet to see the new patch changelog but that energy recharge seems like a very strong thing for combacks and emergency storm warp-ins 40:49 no, those ultralisks were going to be a big problem, because their size was increased in the balance patch
Makes so much sense that MS cant be abducted. I always thought it was so useless, countered by 1 Viper then your most expensive and important unit is gone at the cost of some energy
I don't know why but Marc's team chat gives me much joy. Seeing his teammates be like 'what the FUCK are you doing don't rush colossus' and them transitioning to 'sorry sir I wasn't familiar with your game' at the end when they win kills me
Fairly hilarious a person being afraid of their opponent not knowing who is on their side. Strangely Biblical and spiritual parallel there. A beautiful metaphor.
Back in the days of WoL, there were maps in 1v1, that had not 2 but 4 possible spawning positions. A couple of those maps (like Shakuras Plateau) were also used as some of the 2v2 ladder maps.

Amazing episode holy cow. While your team mate ran with their tail between their legs you rose to the challenge and defeated 2v1...EPIC! Happy holidays uThermal!
That mothership recall, to nexus recall alpha strike was insane. you pulled it off more than once! that was just crazy man. ok, riffing off that idea, Proxy a nexus nearby and you can do the same trick, but keep your army beating the opponents down when you teleport to where they aren't anymore. you just lure them away from where you are going to hit next. Could work in a 1v1 I think.
Hey Marc, awesome play, man! "Hoosier" means someone from Indiana, US. It's pronounced /Hoo-ʒer/. The sound I showed with the /ʒ/ is the sound in words like "usual", or "vision".
@uThermal, great game, so much going on forgot the upgrades, I was in game 3, Nugs. Will try and make changes to improve. Thanks for the Video, been watching your vids for a while. Feels cool knowing I played one of my sc2 idols.
Hey Thermy, I know you always mention about not having rapid fire on certain units for protoss warp ins. You don't need to have it! :D As long as you have some keys on rapid fire it works for every single unit. Let's say you use Grid with T as the normal attack key, as long as T is a rapid fire key you can use it to quickly warp in every protoss unit. On standard Grid Stalker would be E + hold shift + T (or hold shift + E + T) and it rapid fire warp ins a row of stalkers. It works with EVERY rapid fire key you have set as well. Remember Shift + Unit + Rapid Fire Hotkey = Rapid Fire Warp In :)
Going into that last game, I thought for sure we were gonna get a bonus game 4. No way we end with that much time left, right? And then we get uThermal SC2 at its peak. That was so fun to watch, even as a biased Terran guy and BC enjoyer.
In these situations like the last game, you really gotta use your allies supply for something, whether its pure drones and hatcheries, or corrupters, or something.
100% agree with you about map variety. People complain because different map shapes and spawn locations mean they can't play the same rehearsed build every match, but thinking and adapting on the fly is an important skill and it's more entertaining if people need to react to their circumstances.
43:40 Idk why I thought about this, but teammates workers don't use your base, so it's possible the long distance drone mining could be more disruptive to income cause they would leave some of yours bouncing. Probably not in this particular match, but if these 2v2s stay a thing that might become relevant. lol
in the last game, it would've been a bit of an investment, but the extra mobility from a mothership's recall might have been a huge boon to counteract the mobility of the BCs
