I wish I could give this a bouquet of likes! Thank you for the detailing your thoughts about your process. You make it look so easy - mark of a true master!
I really enjoy your explanation of the process. As an amateur, I watch a lot of videos showing the artist working, but without any corresponding tutorial. Awesome vid! ❤
Fantastic work- I'm especially blown away by your color choices. I'd love to see a video where you talk more about your process with deciding and mapping out colors.
Love the gauche & that you did it traditionally! if the client wants changes is this a pain? I almost always do digitally now just because of the advertising world of edits :/
@@Geigez thanks! This is acrylic, and changes are a pain no matter what, so I’ve always worked with what I enjoy. Plus they should be paying more for alterations anyways, especially if they are not the artists fault.
I loved this video. I used to do a fair amount of editorial illustration, but nowhere near this level. Who will shoot or scan this for digital reproduction?
May I ask what the ballpark budget for this was? Editorial budgets have been on crazy decline for the last 10 years, and I've been forced into using more and more digital media, just to keep the time spent down.
How did they come to the decision to commission you specifically? What was that part of the process like, I’m always curious about that, like was it a fan at the Washington post or were they looking to commission art and shortlisted people etc I’m literally clueless to that side of it so sorry if it’s a dumb question.
I could do all of this very easily, yet I will never be paid for something like this by anyone other than a small individual, because my father was assassinated when I was 2 by the people who have all the money.
Either I'm not a fan of Stanley Tucci, or else I never liked any of the acting roles he played. Whenever I see him, I know I'm better off switching the channel.
Anatomy is way off... the sitters left leg is bizarre and so are the size of his feet. Even the balustrade is off kilter, the scooter too small. ...but those legs and shoes, oh boy...they're badly drawn.
So cool to see an artist of your caliber sharing their process here on youtube, thanks!
Too kind, thanks very much.

Appreciate that thanks! I’ll edit out the awkward pauses next time 🍻
Magical. This is what ai bros will never understand

Thank you! Appreciate it 🍻
Bravo, Maestro! Thanks for sharing your process. Will follow your work in the future!

Absolutely breathtaking. I love traditional art 🎨
I really enjoyed it. I can watch you paint all day. I love to see other artist at work! 😊
So cool to see this painting come to life...and to see your planning process as well. Thanks so much for sharing!
I just love this. The likeness is wonderful and the entire composition comes from your imagination. This is a wonderful alternative to a photo.
I just picked up his book! Can’t wait to read it and this painting is great. Love your whole process!
Wonderful. I love how light it feels :)
Whole OTHER level.
Bravo !!!
Excellent description of your process, and a lovely painting. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great work. Thank you a lot for sharing!
Many thanks!
Thank you for showing this.
AWESOME!
Thank you for sharing your process
Excellent! I especially like the description of your thoughts about the work while you're making it!
(The soundtrack drowns you out at some points)
Thanks! Yeah, I believe ya, working on my sound.
Love the muted tertiary color palette!
This, is, sooo awesome.
Love watching your process. These videos are excellent. Cool subject as well. Did you get to see Stanley's reaction to the painting?
Appreciate it, maybe he’ll see it, maybe he’ll buy it, it’s possible 🏄♂️
Really awesome! Looks great!
J’adore ton style ❤❤❤❤
Incredible skill, thanks for sharing :)
Immediately subscribed!
Flawless.
I like Stanley, he looks like a cool guy
great video and really cool to see the progress. I did struggle to hear what you are saying due the background music volume
This makes me miss my illustration career, but still painting.
That's anime quality right there 🔥
😂😂😂
Well done

Beautiful Gennaro sangiuliano portrait
I loved this video. I used to do a fair amount of editorial illustration, but nowhere near this level. Who will shoot or scan this for digital reproduction?
Appreciate the kind words- I photograph the painting myself & then colored correct and send off.
He used to live in the same building I lived in, in Manhattan.
Nice music
This is awesome!!! I'm struggling with blending the colors with acrylic paint. How do you do it? How is your process?
I'm only an amateur, but I discovered retarder, which slows down the paint drying so blending gets a little bit easier.
Thank you @@christophedevos3760
@marinabarbosa227 my pleasure
Amazing video! What brushes do you use?
Was hoping for a Stalker stream tonight :(
Fun watching you paint. Just wondering what type of surface are you using for your wall to hold the push pins?

Hi! I love your work sooooooo much! What type/brand of illustration board do you use?
Could You show how You send the painting to the client ? Stage after the painting os done ! Please
I photograph the work and send it over as a tif via dropbox.

What type of brush are you using? Almost looks like a round but with a broader tip
You’re most likely referring to the Raphael Kolinsky 8404
❤😊👍🏻💪
I bet Stanley was tickled pink
Is there a reason why you paint at a 90 degree angle? Seems like it would be uncomfortable after a long time.
Cool Video but the music was too loud. The next time balance it out while talking :)
Word, noted ✅
Unfortunate day to post this. But the art itself is absolute fire, incredible work, sir.
Why is it an unfortunate day to post this?
Why?
Because of the political controversy with Washington Post?
Not supporting a genocidaire is not crime
why?
This is not Stanley Tucci.
