I’m less than six weeks out from Ironman Wisconsin. That means I’ve got just a few more build weekends before the taper. And it continues to be a wild ride.
I feel those GI woes (literally). Luckily, on the bike I'm fine taking in carbs, but running I usually get sick after about 1.5 - 2 hours. I've started using more straight maltodextrin in my water to "trick" my body into taking in more carbs because it's flavorless. I also found the flavorless carb bars from the Italian brand, Enervit, are pretty good at siting well.
You're doing great! These updates are fun! Have fun throughout your training, you've got this! Nutrition is so tricky and everybody's body is different, so you could learn 6 different theories and it all still depends. Also, our house gets that way too and we're training half as much. Happy anniversary! What bakery were those rolls from? Stay strong and rest well!
Good luck Olivia. I hope the next few weeks go well for you.
Keeping you in my prayers as you continue to train! And.....Happy Anniversary Olivia!
Ironman training is no joke. You got this 💪

I hadn't even considered the nutritional aspects of Ironman. I just figured I'd eat more.

Thanks Becky! Those pastries were cruffins from Bloom (but only available at the Monroe St location).
