- I return to New Zealand for a 7 week road trip around both the North and South Island in this 2 part documentary series.
Episode 1 begins in the North Island, at the capital city of Wellington. Driving with my Kiwi friend Matt, he takes me off the beaten track to show me how Kiwi's enjoy their own country.
Stops include Vinegar Hill, Napier, Tokomaru Bay, Rere Rockslide and Whakatane to do the White Island Volcano Tour.
Then I take Matt on the classic backpacking trail, making him a tourist in his own country.
Stops include Auckland, Waiheke Island, Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Rotorua, Taupo and the Tongariro Crossing.

I just finished watching your backpacking in the Philippines for 5 weeks because I am planning to go to Boracay ,El Nido and Coron in May 2019 for a month. I'm a kiwi, been travelling the world for a few years now and haven't been able to get back because of COVID so just hanging out in central america atm. Every now and then I watch your clips when I'm missing home, gives me a good reminder of how great the country is. Awesome you got to have a proper kiwi experience.
