Wow a glimpse of my grand parents when you were in Tokomaru Bay 💖 the man and lady on the window made me teary eyed thank you for appreciating our piece of paradise 🥰 🌬☯️💓🌈🕉🙏🏿
Thank you kiddo! I used that term, because I’m an old woman: who loves TLOR & has read Tolkien several times; who loves Peter Jackson’s trilogy & loves NZ & would live there, if I can afford it. Thank you, because, even IF it’s virtual, I can see NZ. You did your “project”, in a hilarious way, that even me a 64 yr old woman & my other OLD friend, laughed & laughed. Thank you for the joy, education & entertainment, most especially now, when traveling has gotten scary due to COVID-19.
Daniel Heslop I've been to New Zealand in 2012-2013 for a month.. and I have been feeling "homesick" for so long. I am still thinking about New Zealand daily isn't that crazy!! I live in Amsterdam and I love it too but New Zealand felt like home in just 1 month ❤️🤗
I feel exactly the same emotions about New Zealand. Been there for 3 months and I met so many people over there that I consider it my second home. I'm from Arnhem btw lol. Planning to go to New Zealand in 7 months.
Your friend Katherine has got to be the most easy going and fun loving person I have ever seen in quite some time. Still not quite sure you dont have more subscribers your videos are well put together and fun. I could watch your videos for hours...... Thanks for sharing your life with us Rick (sonofseattle)
I'm a kiwi, been travelling the world for a few years now and haven't been able to get back because of COVID so just hanging out in central america atm. Every now and then I watch your clips when I'm missing home, gives me a good reminder of how great the country is. Awesome you got to have a proper kiwi experience.
Thanks for doing justice to my home country. Now I am home sick. What a great group of friends you have, I wish I had gone to London when younger and found similar sorts of friends.
Couple of beers 🍻, bunch of friends, big screen, and Karl Watson with his yet another Kiwi Odyssey. Couldn't get any better 😄: cheers to one of the best RUclips channel's of all time 👍🏻
It's so strange to see places so incredibly close to my heart (Wellington and Gisborne/the East Cape - both of which I consider home) from an exterior perspective. Gorgeous work, thank you.
Karl this video was sensational! I usually only follow daily travel vloggers which was what inspired me to create my own channel, but I absolutely love your vids that have the entire trip packed into one big awesome video. Awesome guy, Awesome mates and Awesome Country! Cant wait for the next one man!
Greetings Karl. The calibre of your videos surpasses any other RUclips travel documentaries by far. Well done. I'm at the point where I've watched almost all of them, and left wondering when the next will be. Wishing you every success i your next journey, my friend.
Thanks! Next film will be my short Norway trip in April, next trip is Central America. Can keep up to date with what I’m doing on Facebook.com/karlwatsondocs and instagram.com/karlwatsondocs
Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries it's just so professional feeling unlike other travel vlogs around and you really know how to present a show, I'm hooked!
This is such an outstanding channel. The places you see the things you do and the editing it’s a brilliant package. I’m going to watch all of them and glad you had another great time in NZ. If you ever come back I’ll take you for a flight
nostalgia creeps in.. just seeing clips from old videos again. i remember the hk2ny was one of the first videos Ive watched from your channel. amazing as always!
Currently on a working holiday visa in NZ and have been looking forward to this video for ages. Good job on the video, its given me some nice places to go and visit/ go back to now. Been using your videos for inspiration for all of Asia since i started travelling in December. Can not wait for the Part 2
Wonderful! Looking forward to episode 2. Your skills as a documentary maker just get better and better with each one you do and you clearly get to have a blast while doing it! Keep up the good work mate
Genuinely excited when I saw this video pop up, been waiting for it and it didn't let me down. I'm off to NZ in January for two months. Can't wait for part 2 mate. Keep the great work up, your work is definitely appreciated.
I knows it old but great video Karl, glad to see that you love my homeland and you got to experience our culture with Matt. We have been fans of your work for years and the family have done a few of your trips to India and Base Camp. If you ever consider doing a trip around Western Australia which has so much to see, you would have a place to stay with us and meet our family and friends and share travel stories. Keep up the good work. Craig
@@karlwatsondocs you won't be disappointed, we've had many couchsurfers stay with us over the years who have driven around Australia and say that WA is the best for the outdoors. Just know that it is fricken huge if you ever plan on doing it!!!
When i watched your HK2NY New Zealand episode i was inspired. This time around im watching it and its bringing back memories I was in NZ from November until Feb in part because of your videos. So thank you for inspiring myself and so many others to go out there and see these places. Unfortunately i missed you in Queenstown by a day, couldve had a fergburger and a beer! Keep up the amazing work
Just found your channel. Wish I had found it years ago. As soon as I saw White Island I had to comment. Rip to the 21 that was lost at Whakaari to the eruption last year 💔 Now kerosene creek... love that place. The waters are amazing
You inspired my 8 week road trip across NZ in 2015, watching you go back made me want to go again!! Brilliant episode! cant wait for part 2, loving the drone footage as well, nice touch!
I remember that Italy trip Karl and the group. I'm going to watch, look forward to seeing you guys together again and enjoy the adventure. Brilliant Karl. The friends, the secret waterfall, the lobster, white water, the homeland tour and mount doom at the end. Part 2 now. Take care. Mark.
Mate!! This was sooo well done. The drone shots added an entirely new element to the already amazing work you do. I've been in New Zealand now two weeks, starting on the north island and your video has given me few off the path things to add to my list. Looking forward to ep 2! Thanks for the great work! Cheers man
Thank you for posting Road Trip NZ.It's really nice showing Wellington where I live. I just finished watching your backpacking in the Philippines for 5 weeks because I am planning to go to Boracay ,El Nido and Coron in May 2019 for a month. I have been to UK --Bristol, bath and of course LONDON--which is one of my favourite cities in the world plus Wales.
Awesome video. Loved seeing the country through your and your friends' eyes. I learnt some new things even though I’m a Kiwi born and bred. Feel primed for spending time there later in the year.
Finished watching, nice one for sure. That hike at the end looked pretty brutal, but wow, some incredible and surreal views. I'll definitely have too make it to N.Z. one of these years, will have to wait until I can afford to do it right.
Yeah that would be one way to do it and a hell of an adventure for sure. I bet the hitching is pretty good there. I've done a lot of hitchhiking over the years though (hitched from Land's End to John'O'Groats, you might know where those places are!) and all over the U.S. But I think NZ would be cool to do proper with a car at least, then probably camp to save on hotels. I'm in Albania now where I have a sweet private room for $20, that's my kind of price! And an epic dinner for $7. Fortunately there's always somewhere in the world that can fit your budget.
Yeah feel free. Here's my quick assessment: Slovenia: DEFINITELY. Amazing and cheap. Get up into the Julian Alps. It's like Switzerland for 1/3 the price. Piran is a cool seaside village. Croatia is worth it but it's super touristy and a bit expensive. Dubrovnik and Split are the main tourist spots, but there are lots of other great places that aren't as overrun and are cheaper. Try Zadar and Rovinj, both really sweet. Bosnia & H is interesting and cheap. Check out the Bosnian Pyramids, really interesting, that's my next video that's processing right now. Sarajevo is definitely a bit rough around the edges but worth stopping through. Mostar was exquisite but you can see it in half a day. Montenegro was alright, kind of typical beach spots. Just arrived in Albania today and I like the feel of it, and it's dirt cheap. So, that's what I've seen so far in a nutshell. There's so much to see in this region, so give yourself as much time as you can. I've also heard good things about Macedonia and Kosovo. Not sure about Serbia, haven't heard much.
Hi Karl, nice video maate! Really enjoyed watching you travel around NZ and especially when you're meeting people along the way - 'human connection' is the next big movement in our world. Thanks for the inspiration to go out and explore more of what this beautiful life has to offer 👍
Karl, I love your New Zealand videos! I enjoyed them very much and found it very helpful on what I'm planning on doing in the future. Being a LOTR geek myself,( my favorite movies) I would love to visit those sites. :) and see and experience the whole country as much as my budget allows.
