Thanks for video, just moved I to new house, went to turn on pump on in the spring. Casing had a huge crack in it, ordered a new one, $240, now I gotta install the new one
@@zeppone4045 you're right, recently I looked at the price of new pumps, and they sure have increased. I was able to find my housing a few years back, for about 150.
I’m hoping you can describe how to remove the diffuser from a J7S pump. Since the diffuser is plastic I’m not sure how to remove as a socket doesn’t fit tightly on it. I’m worried it will snap off. I’ve called a few dealers and they indicate it’s not worth rebuilding; just buy a new pump.
Recently I got a Goulds water pump of 1 HP to irrigation for my garden in the front and backyard. I notice the motor turns on and off intermittently but comes out good pression of water. Is that correct? Thank you for your response.
I have a 25 year old Jacuzzi that I have been told doesn't have a rebuild kit because Jacuzzi doesn't make them anymore. Does anyone know if that is true? I've been told they were really good pumps
At least my understanding is that it will have a really short shaft but they are usually designed for continuous use. So I don’t see any problem unless you can’t find a way to adapt to the shaft.
It looks like the 1 horse power has the same input and output sizes 1-1/4 in and 1 inch out as the J5S 1/2 horse power version does. Is there much of a difference in water flow at the same pressure of 40/60 psi system? If they have the same input and output pipe size how could it have more flow??
I have broken through 3 o rings trying to reseal my JRS7 gould pump. Any tips, tricks to doing this and each time I have one side that bulges. i have everything soaked in silicone trying to make sure ample lubrication....still breakin them
I have the same pump mine keeps seizing up I take it apart lean it up put it back together and it works for awhile then it jams up again you can hear it make a hum sound as it tries to spin then it gets hot and momentarily shuts itself off
Looking for a jet and venturi/diffuser (ANO17, and AD3731) for a Goulds J-5 1/2 hp pump. Was wondering if the jetting from a 1 hp J-10 pump, (installed in the J-5) would cause pumping problems. That's what's in there now. My J-5 will only pump 2 gals. a minute from a new 20' 1 1/4' shallow well. Any info appreciated.
Not really necessary to drain completely...they only crack when ice expands and has no space to do so. A little water in the bottom of the case is going to do no harm.
Aaaaargh......the video stopped right before you were about to remove the diffuser/nozzle assembly. That's the bit I want to check/clean to see if it fixes my low pressure problem.
I'm looking to get a shallow well pump to draw off a water tank to irrigate 2 acres. My water has sulfur. What pump would you recommend. I noticed the water turns brass fittings black. I was thinking stainless. Wants your thoughts on this. Thanks for the vid.
I have on my farm a J5S Cast iron 1/2 horse power pump with a expansion tank and everything a well pump system needs, pumping from a pond and I have had it for at least eight years with no problems. I irrigate about 8 acres with standard garden hose sprinklers and drip irrigation.
@@mainelyelectric I've seen illustrated breakdowns of these pumps, and it shows "2" adapters, that bolt to the frt housing. 1 for a shallow well, (single inlet), and another with a double. Still investigating where the injector would go, if it were set-up as a deep well. And if I have water at 20-25', would it be foolish to use it as a deep well, (double piped), or would it be easier on the pump motor, cause it wouldn't be working as hard?
I been searching the web on how to remove the guidevane in order to get to the impeller. I havent found a video or any help. Can you please make a video on how to remove this?
@@zeppone4045 what should I check that might to replacing etc?. The pump didn't turn off from air seeping in the line and the impeller was overheated. The new pump pumps if we only let it run 5-1w0 min and manually turn off the circuit until low water pressure! We need the back up and want to know if it works? Tried testing it with tubes to filled buckets.

$240! For just the casing? You can buy an entirely new pump, (motor and all) for $400.

Will the same impeller removal technique work for a Goulds GT15 pump? Thanks. 2:52PM Tuesday Aug 20, 2024
Where are rebuild kits available for this pump? I have been having trouble finding them.
you have to find a Goulds Dealer.
Can you take a pool pump motor and convert to regular electrical use like on a band saw or wood lathe?
Thanks

yes, the rubber ring that goes between the two halves of the pump body

This is not true for a deep well. It’s much cheaper to replace a jet pump then a well pump 300 feet below the ground
Is it possible to run the water pump without impeller?please I need your answer
not If you want water to come out of the pump......
I have a pump just like that one but mine has power to it but it's not turning what could it cause be
Thank you
How does the impeller come off? This video helped but I still need to know how to remove the impeller
I’ll be making a new video on how to remove the impeller soon

Depends on what is causing the water to leak out
