One of my favorite aspects of the Chasm's battle music, like this track, is that they are accompaniments to other more ambient, stripped back versions of the same piece that are used when you aren't in combat. The game fades between the two dynamically as combat begins and ends.
The stripped back version of the track in this reaction video would be "Stories of Remote Antiquity", probably still my No. 1 favorite OST in all of Genshin Impact
@@effortlessfury sometimes it's best to own it. can't tell you how many different takes on "catharsis" ive heard over the years haha. My favorite so far is "car startus"
Glad you finally got around to this one. "Floating in emotional limbo" is one of the best ways you could've described it. It really feels like it weaves through these different emotions of tense, relaxing, desperate, triumphant, melancholy and nostalgic all at once. It's an interesting journey all the way through.
Probably my favorite music in the entire game. This music plays in a place underground that was product of a great calamity thousands of years ago, but the resulting landscape is unimaginably beautiful and mesmerizing, so you are sort of in a middle ground between empathizing with the tragedy that took place here and appreciating the beauty that came after the fall. The theme of life born from destruction is very important for this game and I believe this music in particular encapsulates that idea brillianty. "Appreciate what you have now, but never forget what came before, what was sacrificed for our current reality to exist".
The Chasm has one of my absolute favorite OSTs in genshin. Like, "Decayed in the darkness", absolute love the melancholy in that one And also, Chasm battle music always feels like continuation of the main ost, it doesn't startle you, just gets more intense.
This song is one of my favorites in the entire game, and so is the specific disc it’s on from this album. Another one from this same album and disc that I like a lot is Irresistible Force, which is the China-fied version of Tremor of Menace, and has a lot more percussion. In two cases so far the game has taken music from “regionless” areas (parts of the world that are older than the current nations of the game) and made new versions adding in traditional instrumentation of the countries that now sit upon those ruins.
I plan to get to those on livestreams in the future. I did my first test stream yesterday but it was just a q&a kinda thing to get used to the setup a bit. Twitch functions differently and i didn't want to do anything dumb haha
@@CatharsisYT Oh wow, that would be so cool! :D Whenever that happens, do you plan to also upload the stream on youtube at a later date? I'm rarely going to twitch, if at all... Not a lot of new people react to these concerts anymore, so would be sad to miss it ;-;

Fun fact: The music on the Chasm is adaptive. Instruments get added or removed depending on your combat situation.
what the HELL
they also did this in Fontaine! During the Icewind Suite dance/fight, Coppelia and Corppelius’ themes play similarly to that.
i didnt know this omgggg. god i love genshin, the music, and the chasm SO MUCH.

Yu peng chen is goat for a reason.
His main instrument is a piano, after that Woodwinds, that's why pianos always go hard in his compositions.
this song and the area of the questline it played was soooo emotional and moving literally beautifhl
A shit ton of letmiofs
Emotional limbo is actually a great way to describe the context of this theme.
“Across Dimming Asterisms” is 100% the next Genshin battle theme you should react too.
100% agreed
YES
All of The Chasm battle music is soooooo good.
The song synthesize with the area so well, you’re right about the happy and sad feeling
It makes me emotional😢 I recommend listening to "Empire of Sand" this short piece, and "Combat beneath the waves"
waiting for combat beneath the waves, my favorite track
Another ones goes into my list. This one was really beautiful.
The music in the chasm is so beautiful. I feel like we moved on too fast from talking about how amazing the music in this area is
All battle themes from that album are bonkers AF.

I really like Across dimming Asterism from genshin. I would recommend to check out that on.
being the only music adaptive in genshin impact
All music of chasm makes me feel sad, and that’s good, bc all things that happened there are tragic
You should react to Dance with the great Vortex, honestly it was so underated!! I never saw any RUclipsr react to this battle theme
How about "Seething animosity" track from this OST? It's quite nice
The Chasm and Enkanomiya have very chilling music. Fits with the history honestly.
I really like this music
fcking love this one
This piece in particular reminds a lot to the works of yoko shimomura, specially for the kingdom hearts games, dunno if anyone else can see it
Realm of Tranquil Eternity inazuma - one of the most beautiful Genshin Ost
That’s the name of an entire album, not a single composition.
@@UrLastSurprisethink they mean the track "Inazuma" from realm of tranquil eternity
@@AnujSuresh0606 Oh, well, they did edit their comment to say “Inazuma” after I typed that. Lol
i actually got to this one already I believe. It was a video with the musicians playing
@@CatharsisYT Ah, yes. It’s Inazuma’s main theme and one of the Inazuma battle themes, too.
if you like this, you should listen to enkanomiya's battle theme . i am sure you'll llove it
