Thanks for the BTS. That tone really cuts through. I've recently started playing bass on my church's team and have just started building my pedal board out. I like the simplicity of yours and think I'll end up with about the same number of pedals.
Lots of bass experts making rude comments on here. There is no one true way to play the bass. Everything in music is subjective. I can appreciate anyone willing to put themselves out there.
There is no video without pedals and great rig. If God has blessed him with this and the guy has shared it to us - it’s a win for everyone. Its a wonderful amp, basses and amazing pedals which just makes the whole thing better
This is a taste issue, where some bass players (like myself) prefer to have the compressor at the beginning right behind the tuner pedal to get an even signal across to the DI out. Another way of doing it is putting the compressor at the end of the signal chain because you don't want the pedals before the compressor to be highly compressed, which can change the way some of them sound. It's just a preference to put it either before the signal chain like you mentioned or after like shown here.
It really should be compressor first to give any other pedals a consistent signal. Let them compress your signal at the board a second time if you’re giving them too much.
I think you’re a lead guitarist stuck in a bassist role. IMO, bass for worship needs to focus on clarity, pocket and simplicity. It’s a humble position and pedals other than a compressor can be a distraction.

The videos sound and look great!!! Those vocal harmonies are amazing.
I hope he gets an Ehx Mel9 for some cello and orchestra vibes. Love this guys taste.
where would you put a bass tube screamer? before or after the distorions (dirt pedals) and where woukd the bass equalizer go?
always rocking the crocs
Nice setup. I just got a Pog and a Mono Synth, great pedals!
P Bass -> HX stomp -> into amp or house.
Easy.
i agree.... new video coming
J Bass -> Helix Floor -> Line Out (L) to my monitor & XLR (L) to mixer
Is bass guitar like Ibanez SR705 will also be good for worship/gospel genre?
I don't get lugging an SVT to only use the preamp.
I agree new video coming soon
you make me discover "worship" music, seems nice, thx
Keely Bassist into a SansAmp, to the house. All I need.
Most important part of the tone are the crocs
tuner-compressor-preamp and IEM , I don`t need more than that.
Since you got that nice ampeg you probably don't need most of those pedals.
That makes no sense.

You should give a room for a vocal in your songs
bro! don’t get me wrong it’s a cool rig but her voice is crazy
Why aren't you running the bass straight into the compressor then volume pedal

This was totally going to be my question

what's the name of the song?
Let go - Hillsong Young and Free
Why are you playing the bass like a guitar?
Sorry brother , but my spider senses are telling me you're really a guitarist( as in 6 string ).

Sounds like your from the 70’s. Modern worship is filled with a lot of different tone and technology
@@notforyoutube Music is subjective, but I wouldn't exactly call their performance at the end "worshipful". Super busy and spotlighting.
@@jaypie0864 You’re taking yourself as a bassist waaaaat too seriously.
@@jaypie0864 worship music is a joke anyways so it doesn't matter
@@yuichituba When it comes to serving God, yeah everyone should take themselves, as you say, "waaaaat" seriously.
