Villa I think what Gibi does is so smart, she has the “Gibi ASMR Shorts” channel where she posts shorts of each of her videos so it still pulls people into her main channel for long views, but doesn’t cloud up her video feed on it either!
That’s so helpful to hear! It also confirms that posting shorts and videos on the same channel doesn’t work well for her either. Thank you so much for this!
Villa what makes me come back to u every time is obviously ur asmr style, but mostly how this channel feels like a little family because of what your share about your life. I love seeing travel videos and storytimes and q&as. It really stinks that this is the stuff tanking the channel since its what makes it so special and fun

I'm not at all familiar with having a RUclips channel but had a look at your popular videos and can see some trends, for example
-videos with popular/trending topics such as trigger trails
-asmr classics such as X items in X minutes, role plays etc.
-maybe a shorter, catcher title is better than a long one
-it seems when the titles are at the top of the cover photo with a lighter white background the video gets more views, so maybe makes a difference to have ex. "mall haul, whispered" In a clear and legible font on the cover photo
-compilations seem popular, maybe you can loop certain sounds to have longer videos or a certain trigger
Things I would try to implement:
-maybe shorter catchier titles
-uniform cover photo (similar style/theme for all new videos, higher quality cover photo with a better angle)
-try to do more mainstream asmr videos for a while (see what theme is trending or do classic stuff, medical stuff seems to always get views, measuring you, allergy tests, etc. Day in the life, hauls)
-as others suggested a TikTok or another RUclips channel for shorts/reels.
Don't know how helpful this is or even if at all but it's worth sharing🤷🏻♀️

🌵 If you enjoyed making shorts but they don't work for your channel have you thought about setting up a tiktok (which also isn't too difficult to monetise once you have the followers and views)? It would push new people to your youtube abd you could tag brands (like kiss nails) which might get them to notice you

My channel is so small and I love it, but I do get discouraged bc I haven’t had much growth so sometimes I feel like I go through waves of wanting to film and not but I still love asmr either way 🩵 I would love some advice on what I can improve on and maybe take my channel in a different direction x any advice is welcomed
I just took a quick look at your channel, and the only advice I would give at this point is to spend a little more time working on your thumbnails. That could bring more views!
Have you considered uploading to spotify? I'm not sure how the advertisement would work there either, but I know personally I watch most videos, but sometimess listen to some on spotify. Quite a few channels I subscribe to for ASMR also upload to spotify, and its something I alwasy go and look for when I find a new channel! EDIT: omg!! 🌵 so happy for this to be back!!!

eee thank you villa this is so great! i’ve been watching you since 2016 and you inspired me to start this channel a few years ago🫶🏼 i found it hard previously to stay consistent with uploads but it’s definitely now one of my passions!! i have a q, do you recommend the blue yeti? i have the blue snowball at the moment and i don’t really like it so im thinking of upgrading to the yeti, but would love any suggestions from everyone here too !💜💜
I do like the blue yeti, but I’ve had so many issues with the cord that make it difficult sometimes. It doesn’t always fit properly and the sound goes in and out. It’s been kind of annoying. I’m not sure if that’s my fault though lol 😅

I really want to start an asmr channel, idk why something is holding me back to post. I’ve even talked w my fiance about it and she thinks I should go for it if I want. I feel like a weirdo bc I have asmr videos I’ve made in my camera roll….as if I’m an asmrtist…..yet I’ve never posted them 😅🤣

Villa, I've been a subscriber since, I think, your second video. Thoughts.....
--I pay for premium, commercial-free youtube. In-video product sponsorship/commercials are when I unsubscribe from channels. I am so sick of being advertised AT these days (my goodness, like even pumping gas now!) and I just draw the line on trying to relax while having to listen to (even thinly disguised commercials).
--Shorts: I like the suggestion to have a separate shorts channel. I wasn't a fan or the shorts because I use your videos to relax and help me sleep at night. Shorts don't accomplish that for me.
--Viewership drop: ooo, complicated but a couple observations as a long time viewer. (1) US politics are HIGHLY polarizing and you do slip comments in sometimes. I don't disagree with your, but that could be a dangerous thing if you are trying to grow the channel; (2) I feel like your channel was growing at a fairly steady rate and then...you moved to Egypt. Initially it was a visit to Egypt and we all got to be tourists throught your experiences. But you are there to stay now. It is YOUR life and YOUR choices to make, but the channel is different. It has a very "urban" vibe compared to lreviously with a lot of street/car noise that is almost impossible to mask. I miss the kinds of quiet, outdoor videos you used to include before the move. You also have featured your new husband in videos and this is just me...I come to your channel to see and hear you, not someone else. I'm not trying to be negative because these are YOUR choices to make, but just noting things that may be affecting the slowed viewings/growth. And...also related to your new locale, you are usually very covered up (clothing) in ways that you weren't (and aren't when visiting) in your US videos. This is obviously a personal cultural choice, but people can be into (or not) videos based on sounds or visual cues.
--Video content and affect on views: you put so much effort into this, but I miss some of the kinds of videos you did in the early days...the Travel To series, and all of your themes. I of course miss the TABLE. I feel like your family and friendship network in the states gave you access to more things to use for some of the series, and some locales that were very relaxing (the friend/relative with the garden and pool!).
Somewhere around 100k viewers seems to be a point where many channels stray. Producing content shifts from being a hobby or passion project into being a job with a lot of attention to fancy graphics, production assistance, and...sponsorship. It is when channels shift enough and are balancing acquiring new viewers which can lead to new approaches, but the risk is alienating the ones that have been around from the beginning. I never subscribed in the beginning for slick production, to see product placement, etc....but because you were authentic and did some great tapping (omg, the idea of you doing medical tyoe exams makes me cringe big time!). Your travel and theme videos, your tapping, quality soft talk and whispering, books, donuts, marshmallows, cooking videos...those are the things I came to watch and still watch.
I understand if you need to make changes and make it your living. I just hope in embracing new things, you don't also lose the Villa the early subs fell in love with! 🌵❤

As a long term viewer of this channel, it's disheartening to hear about the inconsistencies related to views! I will, from now on try to comment on every video to increase engagement with the channel. Idk if that will help but I'd like to do my part. This channel is a part of my everyday life. I love your personality, Villa. I LOVE to hear your stories and no other channel gives me the joy of listening to ASMR like you do. ❤❤

I hope you get some answers. It sounds so discouraging to put in the effort and not have it pay off. The creativity, work and love you put into your videos is appreciated. I don’t have experience with this to help, but I would watch a separate channel with the fun stories and life chats🌵

I don’t make videos but I watch a lot of asmr and I know a lot of people use blue yeti microphones. Though I think these are pricey so maybe someone will know of a good starter mic
I use a blue yeti mic, but there are some pros and cons with it. I’ve had issues with the cord that connects to my phone. It cuts in and out sometimes, but that could be a problem on my end of possibly using the cord for too long or something? It didn’t do it when I first bought it. I personally film one video each day most of the time, but sometimes I’ll do two videos in a day if it’s on the same topic. My favorite triggers are ASMR in public tapping videos, book, tapping videos, and anything with whispering or soft spoken!
@@rachelmargaret4296 mine was under $100 from Amazon, but it probably isn’t there best.
The problem is definitely not the quality of the videos because they’re top notch asmr
