This is the first time in any episodes I’ve seen someone actually take aim to hit their target (outside of German snipers), when Lt. Hanley fires at the German on the roof. Really nice stance and form when he took this pose, shows his real life experience, as he was an avid hunter.
My God! Why doesn't Hanley just shout from the roof tops in enemy territory he's a Lt. in the US Army??!! Wearing his rank insignias on shoulders and helmet is just asking for a German sniper to take him out!
I like the story and the conflict it now in this COVID19 lockout in Luzon I am enjoying and appreciating the plot unlike when I was very young we only liked the fighting the exchange of gunfire..they seemed not to run out o good writers
@ 12:56 This reminds me of a time when, as a private, I got caught making fun of my section chief, SSG Terry Camden from Alabama. He was upset by it and later confronted me. I had to tell him that is what is going on in practically every field artillery section in the U.S.Army. People make fun of their leaders as well as one another. If your skin is thin, the military is not the place for you.
I was privileged to learn on a Ford 8N at the age of 12. 8N is about the same as a 9N with a few improvements. Damn good tractor. BTW, they are in France.
Germans used anything and everything they could get their hands on. French tanks from 1940 were used as assault guns. Lots of Italian Carcanos were used to defend Berlin. Pistols of all kinds appropriated. Just anything. So I have no doubt old Maxims, Hotchkiss, Vickers, Lewis, etc.. machineguns were used.
Jack Hogan who played Kirby is still alive. Steven Rogers who played the Doc in the first season of Combat is still alive. Colan Carter who played Doc later on from seasons 2-5 is still alive. Tom Lowell who played Billy Nelson from seasons 1-2 is still alive. Shecky Greene who played Braddock from the first season is still alive.
Germany was fighting a 3 way front they could have easily beat the Americans alone especially in the beginning they had all those tiger tanks and the stukas a modern calvery, and that big 88 all those 20 mm cannons raised havoc on the allied forces
A Virginia mountain farmer doesn't belong in Europe, carrying a rifle, killing strangers. Watching "The Waltons" does a good job in realistically explaining the thoughts and feelings of the "mountain folk" when it came to WW1 and WW2. Many never came down from the hills into the towns and cities more than a couple of times in their lives. Shouldn't be expected to fight some other man's war. Most of them made good soldiers though. Read Alvin York's biography. It's fantastic. Great Episode!
Learn a little history and geography. West Virginia and Virginia have not been the same state since 1863. You'll piss off a WV hillbilly faster by not knowing that than you will by making fun of us.
I 'get' Culley..good 'fly over' folk.
Robert at 67, from Cali, Virginia, Pa. and Oklahoma, now in Arizona
Little John seems to be filling in for Saunders with the caring words of wisdom to the new guy.
Me and my late grandmother would stay up at 1:00 am and watch this show

Most often used phrase..."knock it off".

That Ford tractor was made during the '50s wrong error for 1940

I like Combat in black and white better. Lol
The new TVs let you turn the color off. Try it!
Hanley has the M-1943 field jacket in Season 5 but everybody else sill wearing the M-1941.
Eucalyptus trees in Northern Europe?
Didn’t have to say a word for the guy to know he was out of line. .
Hanley sports a new highlighted bar on his helmet
My husben very like combat filem
Nice film
Lt Hanley has a new helmet!
Mick Jorge He needed one!
I didn't know they had Ford 9N tractors in Germany - especially with the rear wheels mounted backwards!
Henry Ford supplied more than just tractors to Germany. A large part of German transport was powered by Ford engines.

Well finaly a German extends the stock of his MP-40. Yet Kirby never ever uses the bipod on his BAR. Why lug the weight when you never use it?
Deaf Smith - I'm not that positive it was an MP 40, didn't look like pressed metal body, could have been its predecessor, but I could be wrong?
Never mind, that bipod can always come in handy in a flat field with little brush/ground cover lying prone..Robert at 67.
GOOD!!!
Why hasn’t Hanley become a Captain, or Cage and Kirby a Corporal?
M1 is finicky but it’s easy to hit a target at 100yards in 2 seconds. Target on roof was too easy for Lt.
Nice to hear the BAR sounding like it should! Not like a buzz saw!
But I noticed in most of series, the that Germans were using the British machine guns. And not the MG42 or 36's. Error on the production teams part.

One of Germans first had Kar98k and when he was on the roof he got Gewehr 43
It's a TV show, not a documentary. LOL
Sangat suka.
All the stars has been passed away unfortunately

That village is showing signs of wear and tear....
Thought American officers don't wear their brass on their shoulders out on the frontlines
I used to have my mom interpret for me what the Germans were saying since she was knew German.
Tommorow never die right
I like army
Kirby's BAR never seem to have any type of recoil. Interesting.
It's a freagin show
Ellis James e
Kirby is not using the BAR as it is intended to be used.
Boy they fought them Germans all up and down the west coast.
Germany was fighting a 3 way front they could have easily beat the Americans alone especially in the beginning they had all those tiger tanks and the stukas a modern calvery, and that big 88 all those 20 mm cannons raised havoc on the allied forces
You callin' Germans "Krauts?" Watch it buster, I'm German...Oh, wait a minute, that's ok, everyone else is callin' us Krauts too...
Kirby- wtf? 5th year and you still can't aim/shoot for sh-t? Lt Hanley picks off sniper w excellant form!
If it isn't the German's being shot on top of buildings and in trees then the fall sure killed them.
But i like army
Si Lt. Rick Jason hindi na na promote natapos na lang giera.
é uma serie desta natureza nao ser legendado ou dublado , infelizmente
