- Sunjoe Pressure Washer Instant Fix. Pulsating and shutting off fix.
They over crimped the coupling hose connectors connecting the spray nozzle and the pressure washer. Take a 1/8" drill bit and drill out the end. Should only need to drill down 1" or so or until he don't feel any resistance. Check out the video to see what I'm talking about. If you think this video is creative, check out the rest of my channel.
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Holy crud. Thank you so much. It was driving me crazy. I thought it was the extension cord limiting the pump power. You saved me!!
Thank you!!!! Came across your video because mine was doing this a while and we couldn’t figure it out. Watched your video. Seriously, 5 min later, it’s working!! Thank you!
Incredibly helpful. Fixed the issue with my Ryobi power washer. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wisdom!
Man this video saved my newer pressure washer, and me plenty of money! Thank you so much for uploading!
I had the same pulsating problem but mine was caused by the plugged nozzle at the pressure gun that was plugged. I used my air compressor and blew out the tip of the nozzle I was using and that took care of the problem. You can check if that is your problem by switching nozzles. The hole in the 15 degree nozzle tip is quite small and if you have hard water it clogs up. Other wise this pressure washer has worked fine for me since I purchased it a couple of years ago.
Same here, a clogged nozzle stopped mine from working. If not mistaken it wouldnt work at all. Switched nozzels and that was it
This happened to me when I turned it on the other day. Trying to work it lose the nozzle shot off under high pressure like a champagne cork and landed out of sight.
This was super helpful. I did all of it. Unfortunately, my problem was that I forgot to turn the water on.💧
Great video very helpful. Thanks a lot.
Mine has three nozzles. The grey nozzle will build to much back pressure and it just cuts off and on constantly. The other two nozzles work perfect. The grey one that doesn't work is the widest pattern one. I've cleaned it with the provided tool. And if some of you missed it in your box their is a thin wire with a circle at the end. This is your nozzle cleaner. It's so thin that if it lands on the floor you may not find it. I think mine is a 1500. Came with the foam adapter.
I'll have to try this . I have the 2080 psi sun joe . It works but I thought it was building pressure by pulsing
Just had a similar problem but the tip I was using was plugged. I never even thought to check it as I went from connector to connector making sure it was all open lol.
Thanks! Gave me an idea on how to fix mine lol
I have one of these. Anytime its pulsing it's usually my water pressure, hose is kinked or not the right size. Also it you have had it for awhile try a different end nozzle, yours might be clogged or rusted, it doesnt take much. Soak it in vinegar for several hours. Now that being said, I wish I could fix the absolutely horrible coupling they put on these, it never fully attaches and always sprays water even with teflon tape on the joint.
Just drill out the end, try that first. 1/8" drill bit.
Are you using a M22-14 hose on the M22-15 connector on the SunJoe? 14 will of course go into a 15mm hole but it wont seal. You can get adapters now.
I have the same machine in blue. When I use it then it'll act as if it has a shortage sometimes and it will not spray right. It will do this on and off while sometime it will spray just fine. Will this fix the issue? It's 2 days old.
Mine was working fine for 5 mins until it wouldn't even turn on. And I've tried the reset button, it has energy going into it.
Clogged nozzel. Change to a different one
Interesting! Ill try it
I have the same one. It pulsates when I turn it on without squeezing the handle. When i squeeze yr he trigger it works perfectly. But the noise of the engine pulsating drives me nuts I cant use it. I disconnected cleaned and re connected everything...
It sounds like maybe it's time to invest in a personal otic transmission dampening apparatus. Unfortunately this model did not include those.
i drilled drilling but there was nothing to drill...my 1/8 drill bit just goes into the hole
Also try replacing nozzle. Oxidation causes it to clog up. Do not try to fix while the pressure washer is on. I made that mistake the last time I started it up and almost
I just had this problem my green tip was plugged, I just used the red tip and shot it at my green tip to clear it out, problem solved
So I just bought one of these and it has this weird pulsating problem where the pressure cuts off about every 15 seconds or so then comes back. Is that what you were experiencing? I may give this a try, do you drill into the pressure hose on both ends of it? Do you also drill into the outlet on the back of the unit where the hose connects? Just want to make sure I do this right, thank you.
Yes, that's exactly what I experienced. Just drill in the hose on both sides.
I also thought he was trying to say drill into outlet on the back of unit too. He lack communication skills. Not sure why he just didn't remove the hose and show everyone which end he was sticking the drill bit into ? Would only took him few seconds to remove the hose from the unit. So there would be NO CONFUSING. Guessing he was just to lazy.
How did you detach the hose from the gun? I cannot figure out how to get them apart?
the threads unscrew and then you wiggle it out, it gets stuck inside so it needs quite a bit of wiggling from a bunch of directions after you've fully unscrewed the clamp on the outside..
HELP If I remove the outlet hose the water runs freely BUT it will not power up. Cord lights up for reset and test but no power on at unit. Please HELP
The special GFI plug isn't truly watertight. When water gets in the circuit fails. I replaced mine with a standard plug, because I take responsibility for always plugging it into a GFI protected outlet. If you think no electricity is getting to the pump, and the test and reset buttons don't work on the plug, I think you need to replace the plug either with the same GFI plug or you can do like I did if you choose to knowing that electrocution protection must be provided elsewhere.
@@JamieMurdock90 This is a rational solution but to protect the other people borrowing your deathtrap modified removal of the (built-in) GFI who wouldn't know better, please don't remove this potentially life-saving device
@@markwineburg164 You make a good point. I have since replaced the pressure washer with a more powerful one. Before I throw out the old one, I will cut the entire cord off.
What size drill bit did you use?
He did say the size in the video.
Pay more attention!!!
For the hard of hearing and the plain ignorant it was a 1/8" or 4.5mm
So by pulsating do you mean that the motor keeps starting and stopping every few seconds ?
Yes
I'm facing the same issue with the machine pulsating and shutting off. I tried to drill through the hose openings but i'm not feeling any resistance ... no drill dust/shillings or anything... am I outta luck?
Probably too late but it might be your tip.. clogged tip or try using a different one.
is the symptom on and off forever? I have the same issue.
That's right. They over crimped the hose connector. Drill out the end where it's crimped,
both ends of the hose with a 1/8" bit and see if that fixes your problem. They crimped these too tight at the factory, seems to be a typical problem.
What do you mean by “pulsating “? Mine just runs for about one second then turns off, then repeats that over and over.
I'd drill out both ends of the hose with a 1/8' bit and see if that fixes your problem. They crimped these too tight at the factory, seems to be a typical problem.
my wife wouldnt shut up about my drinking--this fixed her--larger bit required tho--thank you sunjoe
Doing that broke my bit into the hole....its worse!
You have to turn the drill on. I am so sorry I forgot to mention that step.
@@symphonydedan Drill was on, bit got stuck and broke off.
You must've had a cheap drill bit or went in at an angle
Did not work for me
What fixed my problem was opening the unit up and tightened the outlet. Looks like the manufacturer crushed the thread putting on the outlet pipe so water was shooting out at higher pressures.
This unit is garbage. Just don't buy one
This video is for people that already bought one.
@@symphonydedan I bought one. It didn't work. Now home Depot has it back. The service counter says 5 others have been returned to this store this week alone. It's a bad product
Definitely a bad product.
It's a product that fits a need. It's electric so it's less powerful and cheaper than a gas model. It cleans what many people need it to clean but it's not going to take rust stains, paint & oil off your sidewalks and driveways nor is it going to pressure wash your second story home from the ground. It will clean your car, outdoor furniture, gutters (with right attachment), decks & patios (albeit at 6-9" with 15-25 degree tip). It will do this for half to third the cost of a gas unit. Not garbage but might not be the right unit for you.
@@tjfitz-gerald3936 doesn't do any of that if it doesn't run, lol
What drill? Not at all helpful.
Any drill, mate. And use a 1/8 bit.
