@@GerrodCarper - As far as, purchased-records go, no, I don't think many are buying what they have there in recent months. Though, I have bought a few 78's there in the past. I do like stopping in there and checking out what they have every now and then. I remember when they had the records, where the dvd's are at now.
I would have to agree with you. And the people who work at these locations collect vinyl also. That's why I just grab random Records and not really worry about finding ones I really want. I use Discogs for that. Lol . Appreciate the feedback 👍
@@GerrodCarper information is too easy to get now on what’s worth holding. That’s why most Rock, Jazz, R&B and even harder edged Country is increasingly few and far between. Realistically the records that are left shouldn’t be over 50 cents, if that.
@@monaural2.988 exactly! That's why it trips me out seeing the records going for crazy prices sometimes. I don't mind spending a few bucks on some random records hoping for good. But I've seen a lot of spots going for $5ea. Lol 😂
Yet…there are RUclips channels out there with people showing off the NM/VG+ $1 thrift store finds (scores) consistently week after week. The thrift stores/Goodwills in my area are worse than this guy’s video. “Scores” happen once in a blue moon, and will run more than a buck.
@@tuxjapose yeah unfortunately I got into vinyl too late I think. Years ago thrift stores were packed with good records. But now we have to worry about the workers at the stores getting first dibs. =/
Same as the charity shop rubbish here in the uk! That weather reports in there because it’s warped to hell, if it was mint and flat some dealer would have it instead! The 45 king had a good one out in 1989 called “the 900 number” that was more or less a jazz breakbeat going all the way through it, catchy though!!!!

It's funny you mentioned that record. I picked that record up a few months ago and was going to say something when I seen it in this pile. It is a weird record. And you might be right about the that sample
@@GerrodCarper No. turns out it's not actually the sample. Automator sampled a preset from some old asian omnichord. But you could convince anyone that "Me and My Arrow" is the sample. lol

I used to go to Elk Grove every other weekend and would hit the GW in Elk Grove and would surprisingly come up FAT
Yeah that GW is a good spot. They have a few locations. The one right off the 99 is pretty good 👍
