He only hangs up on MJ because of the suit. I like that the suit also doesn’t make him angry for no reason. It only does so to protect itself, Peter, or Miles. In the scene with Harry and MJ it only makes him angry when Harry says he needs the suit.
This battle is quite symbolic, it shows Miles fighting Peter in the same way that Peter fought against Octavius, both having been twisted by something, in Octavius' case his arms and in Peter's case Venom. Miles even tells Peter the same thing he told Octavius. "You have to save yourself" The only difference is that Peter decides to listen to Miles and save himself while Octavius decides to ignore Peter and condemn himself, thus showing that Otto did what he did by his own decision.
At 3:26 you can see that SM Peter’s OG soundtrack faintly. It shows that Pete is fighting back and in the end you can hear the OG soundtrack perfectly. Love how they made the music
I feel like the choice to make Venom say the “You think I’M the problem” line is fantastic writing in my eyes. At this point, and even for the rest of the game, Venom’s actions were never purely malicious save for killing Kraven. He genuinely wanted to realize Harry and Peter’s dream, he just went about it in a very twisted way. So him saying “You think I’M the problem” could very well be Venom being genuinely shocked that someone could think that, since in his eyes he’s helping everyone.

If it really wanted to do so it wouldn't try fighting so hard to gain control of everybody and trying to twist their desires to turn them into a hivemind. He wants to save everyone in the city, and the way he mentions MJ and May clearly shows just how much emotional and psychological pain he is in. In this game, Peter is still mourning the loss of May, his aunt/surrogate Mother figure. When he has the black suit on, it not only amplifies his negative emotions but also corrupts and twists his thoughts and mindset on fighting crime as Spider-Man. The mix of the symbiote's voice speaking with Peter was terrifying and awesome to hear because it shows how much the symbiote has bonded with Peter. The music is very emotional as well because it’s the clash of two spiders and a symbiotic clash between two friends/two brothers in arms. Miles is trying to remind Peter that they don’t kill and they don’t use excessive force or violence to solve their problems.
But also more importantly and directly, "You think I'm the problem. I'm the solution!" Is the *symbiote* talking to Miles and trying to convince the latter that he can fix everything with Peter. Just like 90% of Harry's dialogue to Miles in the final boss is actually the symbiote talking to Miles and not Harry. It's all done in a way where every single time they have the symbiote talk to someone it almost always has a double meaning except once towards the very end where Venom tells Miles that he tore them apart in the forest, which is where Miles explicitly realizes this whole shtick

Harry and the symbiote both have very similar feelings about Miles, and think similar things, because Harry feels like Peter replaced him with Miles while he was sick and Peter was "taken" from the symbiote with Miles's help. So "You tore us apart!" is something *both* Harry and the symbiote are thinking. Just like "You think I'm the problem! I'm the solution!" is BOTH Peter talking to Miles about how he feels like Miles and everyone else consider him a menace to the city, but ALSO the symbiote trying to convince Miles that it is the fix to Peter's problems. The symbiote basically uses the thoughts of its host as a mouthpiece to express its own thoughts, except for a few moments where it has total control with Harry near the end which make Miles realize this whole gimmick. It's incredible fucking writing
This track and fight made me cry alot. I love Spider-Man and seeing Miles trying to reach out to Peter did it for me. Its like I was in his shoes calling out to my hero. Yeah Miles was reaching to save Peter... his hero, his mentor, his friend. Me... I was trying to save Peter, save my childhood hero, and bring him back.
I absolutely love that about this fight. It's not just Miles trying to save Peter, but you, the player. Because who was Miles before he got his powers? A kid who loved Spider-Man, just like us. And now we're the only ones who can remind him of who he is and why he does what he does. My favorite boss fight across all three Insomniac Spider-Man games by a WIDE margin.
1:04 Miles bangs on the bell, causing the symbiote-influenced Peter to freak out because of the sound. Miles, true to his nature as both a hero and Spider-Man, tells Peter to focus on him. Peter, hearing this, finally breaks out of the symbiote’s influence, ripping it off completely and tossing it aside. It tries to crawl back to and onto him, but Miles comes in clutch with the container. Having saved Peter, Miles and him swing away. I absolutely LOVED this game. We waited for Insomniac to cook, and they cooked to perfection! 10/10

This feels like the Opposite of the Spider-Man Theme with a Spider-Man 3 Vibe in it, not Only does Miles has to fight his Mentor but also safe his Brother from the Inner Darkness Peter was holding on for 10 Years, this might be the Best Song in the Game.
This was the moment Peter needed, to release his inner demons that had been tormenting him all this time. We finally see Peter without the mask behind which he hides all his worries, problems and feelings. this was the real moment when he finally went beyond his limits of endurance, which was also fueled by the symbiote. Iconic moment delivered form insomniac. A treat for spider man fans

As Leon put it in RE4: “Time for the teacher to be taught”. This fight is downright one of the best battles of the student vs mentor scene. Right up there with Anakin vs Obi Wan from Revenge of the Sith
This fight is the epitome of all Peter fans fighting for their favorite hero just like Miles. Literally us wanting to pull our role model out of the darkness that he was in so long alone and I love it. I also love the moment where Miles says if he believed the suit could save his loved ones he would have worn it too. Peter isn't perfect and the suit is enticing.. who wouldn't wear it if it gave you results? Made you feel better than what you previous was?
That's the scariest part about the symbiote suit. It promises a quick and easy "solution" for whatever your problems and insecurities might be. It will make you feel so powerful and confident where you otherwise felt weak and helpless. Could any of us honestly say we'd have the inner strength to reject the symbiote? Could you really let go of the thing that "fixed" your life for you?

2:43-3:25 man this part of the music is absolute chaos and beauty 3:04 the way the music just gets more and more despair as peter and miles try to get the symbiote off before it takes full control, this wasn't the final boss but holy shit the music and emotion make this feel like one

GOD I love when not only the characters themes are in music, but they then change as the narrative advances in the story. Having BOTH Peter and Miles respective themes and choruses play one right after the other was so FUCKING INCREDIBLE during this fight.

Insomniac was really able to deliver one of my favorite variants of Spider-Man. Not just good games, but ones that understood the character in all of its facettes. I also love that Insomniac wasn't scared of showing of a more darker and serious story and characters, with actual consequences. Not reusing villains endlessly, which is why I also respect them for killing of nearly all of the "Sinister Six" in this game. I also adore how they take a look back at Aunt Mays death and what kind of impact this really had on Peter. How all of this shakes and breaks his morals and everything he believed into the ground. It is not only Venom talking while they fight with Miles, but mostly Peter. It shows how devestated and desperate he is, always having to choose the City over his friends, family and everyone he loves.
Hearing him break down about how the city still doesn't appreciate everything he's done after all he's sacrificed was truly painful. I almost felt like I was slipping too when he declared "I'm the solution."

But as always, if Spider-Man wins, Peter Parkes loses. And this suit gave Peter the feeling of being able to handle both, so to speak of being the ultimate solution.

This fight is for more than Miles, but the players too. One final battle in an attempt to save our fallen hero, someone we admire and want to bring back into the light
This soundtrack here had me mesmerized as I duked it out with Peter and having Miles desperately trying to pull him back tugged at my heart strings. I love this game a lot.
God, this track is a master class. You can *feel* the increasing desperation in the beats and tempo, first reflective of Miles’ attempts to reach Peter, then of Peter’s attempts to resist the suit’s influence.

This is the most emotional game I've ever played. Peter was forced to fight two of his best friends. First because he wasn't acting as himself. Second because he was trying to save his friend. And then having to fight the love of his life for pretty much the same reason Miles had to fight him.

Even this fight was better for me than venoms peter theme sounding so corrupted with a slight glim of hope of miles trying to bring him back is so good for me this is my fav fight in the whole game

GOD I love when not only the characters themes are in music, but they then change as the narrative advances in the story. Having BOTH Peter and Miles respective themes and choruses play one right after the other was so FUCKING INCREDIBLE during this fight.
Having a good theme in a boss battle brings out our seriousness and determination.

Im equally extremely happy and pissed off that this fight was arguably way better than the final fight.
It's like fighting yourself (literally both are Spiderman), They obviously had to make this fight as Good as the Final Fight.

Insomniac was really able to deliver one of my favorite variants of Spider-Man. Not just good games, but ones that understood the character in all of its facettes. I also love that Insomniac wasn't scared of showing of a more darker and serious story and characters, with actual consequences. Not reusing villains endlessly, which is why I also respect them for killing of nearly all of the "Sinister Six" in this game. I also adore how they take a look back at Aunt Mays death and what kind of impact this really had on Peter. How all of this shakes and breaks his morals and everything he believed into the ground. It is not only Venom talking while they fight with Miles, but mostly Peter. It shows how devestated and desperate he is, always having to choose the City over his friends, family and everyone he loves.
Hearing him break down about how the city still doesn't appreciate everything he's done after all he's sacrificed was truly painful. I almost felt like I was slipping too when he declared "I'm the solution."
@@zacharybosley1935 yeah, I agree with you. Especially with the city part, he knows that the city would have probably been ripped apart several times if it wasn't for him. But as always, if Spider-Man wins, Peter Parkes loses. And this suit gave Peter the feeling of being able to handle both, so to speak of being the ultimate solution.

This fight is for more than Miles, but the players too. One final battle in an attempt to save our fallen hero, someone we admire and want to bring back into the light
This soundtrack here had me mesmerized as I duked it out with Peter and having Miles desperately trying to pull him back tugged at my heart strings. I love this game a lot.

This is my favourite piece of music from the in-game soundtrack. And it just so happens to play on my favourite boss fight in the game itself.
God, this track is a master class. You can *feel* the increasing desperation in the beats and tempo, first reflective of Miles’ attempts to reach Peter, then of Peter’s attempts to resist the suit’s influence.

This is the most emotional game I've ever played. Peter was forced to fight two of his best friends. First because he wasn't acting as himself. Second because he was trying to save his friend. And then having to fight the love of his life for pretty much the same reason Miles had to fight him.
If you think that this crap was a sad game then you should play Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is the only good game. Spider-Man 2 is pathetic woke propaganda game and MJ is nothing more than disgusting tomboy.

I felt all along this game this sentiment of "we are just at the beggining of a long story of Spidey and Marvel with Insomniac". I thought about Spiderman 3, Wolverine, this Avengers Tower that is waiting in the city, the powers of Dr Strange... Yeah, something is happening.
What really caught me off with this boss was the health bar. It didnt say Spider-Man or Symbiote. It was Peter.
