How to Link Abaqus 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 with Intel FORTRAN

- In this video, we will show you how to link Abaqus with Intel and visual studio. This approach is best for linking Abaqus from the version 2016 to 2020. The visual studio and the Intel compiler are from version 2015 and they can be from higher versions but this version has been tested for several Abaqus versions. For Abaqus you need to have the Abaqus license and using student license is not enough. However, for the Visual Studio and Intel Compiler having a student license is enough.
Using Subroutine in Abaqus helps you to create complex models. Sometimes, it is unavoidable to use subroutine to create a model so linking Abaqus might not necessary for you now but you might need it in the future. If you think you need more background it might be a good idea to see the other video about the subroutine.

Intel Parallel Studio (all versions) no longer available. Free student licenses no longer available because the product does not exist anymore. Intell tells us to use their new "oneAPI" instead. How is that going to work with Abaqus I do not know.

Hey, good video! :) Do you know where I can access Intel Parallel Studio XE 2015 software? Because on the Intel website the oldest version I can download is version 2017 update 6.

I've just checked it and released they've removed the link.
You have two options:
1- Going with Intel XE 2017 or 2018. (Please let me know if it worked for you.)
2- Downloading the old version from the other websites and use your student serial number. (You need to download a version from the official website and then use the given serial number for your older version that you have downloaded from the other website).
Hi, This was a very clear video explaining how to link Abaqus with Fortran. I followed the instructions given in the video and Abaqus is opening without any error in cmd. But when I try to submit the job, it gives me an error saying, "Unable to start analysis job". Can you please help me with this. Is it due a mistake in linking or something else?

Hi Reza! Thanks for showing us your video tutorial. I am making my thesis and i need to run a subroutine made by me. My university has Abaqus's licencese in their version 14.1. What version of VS and intel compiler is compatibility with 14.1 ? Greetings!

I think the most compatible intel and visual studio versions are: 2011 for Intel Fortran and 2012 for visual studio

@@rezatangestani2742 yep i see. The big problem is that Intel doesnt have support to compiler 2011 and 2013 anymore, so i cannot find them on the web. by the way, thanks for answer!
By this video, we can only link but make sure if we are running user subroutines it will not work as it needs combo with visual studio.

Sia here in this video there is no link with visual studio at last your verification will get failed. There is always a combo of abaqus + visual studio + intel version.
after launching abaqus 2020 it says Invalid command line argument: vs2015
